Video Game General v8.01D : PC Gaming Golden Age, Big Box (Part 1)

If Apple and Google kicked Epic for the same or similar reasons, I can see other store fronts doing the same. Samsung is a Korean company, they have zero reason to be loyal to Tencent.

No they don’t, but if Samsung is the primary platform for a very popular game, who’s to say Epic won’t deliver Samsung-exclusive content and sweeten the deal a bit? This could definitely be a boon for them.

Mainly 2.
To put it simple, the 30 something commission in every transaction

And that you can only do businesses through them.

Video games cant have direct ways of payment or through 3rd party ones.

Meanwhile stuff like amazon, ebay, netflix etc can.

30% is normal. I have had 10+ apps on the app store and only 1 was a game, and they were all 30% going to Apple so that isn’t just games.

But I kind of can see where you are coming from with Netflix and Amazon. But I still see those transactions as being different than an in-game transaction to use in the game.

With Amazon, Ebay, etc, you don’t need the app in order to make those purchases. You could just use Safari to make purchase outside of the apps. Those apps are basically web containers. You don’t need the apps to make purchases on ebay, amazon, etc.

Games are different. If you want to play Fortnite on iOS, there is only one way. All of the in-app purchases can only be used in that iOS game.

I mean don’t get me wrong I do see how there is a comparison between the two and how it’s kind of a gray area, but I see them as being significantly different.

Also, maybe if Epic let you do both in-app purchases and doing it another way, that would be fine. But to my knowledge they completely bypassed in-app purchases right? Because I know with things like Pandora I’ve subscribed to premium for a month and I did it in-app purchase, so Apple got a cut. But I am pretty sure I could have done that on the website or with like a Pandora giftcard and Apple would not get a cut.

Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Red Robin. I think I saw regular Robin too…if so that means it would be Dick, Barbara, Jason, Tim, and Damian.

No they don’t what?

I don’t think Epic would as they are greedy, and we also assume Samsung care to do this.
If they did it be more to spite Apple than it would be to be buddy- buddy with Epic. Which I am not seeing.

Oooh Gotham Knights the new Arkham game eh? I’m interested.

Yeah I am too. They had me at Nightwing and Batgirl. The other characters are a bonus.

Batgirl and Red Hood look dope. I’m down. Hopefully they bring boss fights back, AK completely dropped the ball on that aspect

I was agreeing that Samsung has no reason to be loyal to TenCent, but, being the only app store that you can natively download Fortnite from could be big for them. Samsung could definitely leverage this if they wanted to, though whether or not they do is a other question.

Sheeeeeitttttt,
One of the Robins appears to have some teleportation tech, so that’s automatically going to be a top-rank pick for me…at least if you can use that in the heat of battle.

…so, how long until we find out it’s ā€œonline-onlyā€ like 98% of every fucking thing else? You can bet money on it at this point, sadly. If ā€œonline-onlyā€ was an actual living creature, I’d have no problem carving the skin off that muthafucka and forcing him to eat it, then breaking every limb in it’s body and setting the bitch on fire. Then I’d resurrect it to start the torture all over again for the rest of time.

Meh, Gotham Knights is just DC’s version of Marvel’s Avengers

Yeah…no.

No Gotham Knights is an Arkham game starring the Bat-family. I don’t know how made that comparison. Just because both games have a Superhero team in them does not make them the same.

RPG mechanics, damage numbers, probably live service model, coop (although here it’s just 2 vs 4 in avengers)

Well, could just say Avengers is just marvels version of the batman games…just with more characters.

It just looks like all the Batman games to me it just doesnt have batman.
