Video Game General v8.01D : PC Gaming Golden Age, Big Box (Part 1)

He gave us a rather long answer, explaining: “I believe players of the remaster will enjoy the same multiplayer user experience as they did back in the day with the original game. Three of the four platforms that this game will be released on are portable, so even if all four players play on different hardware, they can play together in the same location, or even if they’re physically far apart. Multiplayer was made so that players can choose how to play depending on their gameplay style.”

Araki says that the decision to cut local play was because “the game didn’t mesh well with local play that would restrict it to one platform.” Instead, he and his team opted to work hard on implementing cross-play, noting, “implementing both a cross-platform feature and a local play feature may be a challenge for us to tackle in the future.” It seems like it was a “one or the other” type situation here.

Following up, I wanted to get a definitive answer on save transfers, and Araki was happy to oblige: “As for cross-save… technically, we don’t have a cross-save feature but just a save data transfer feature. This save data transfer feature was built on an existing system that our company operates to use across various projects. I truly thank our company’s Information Technology division who provided this system.”

So this past week I drove to Microcenter near me that has a Gamestop in the same shopping area and it was just completely gone. I was surprised to see that because that was my go-to one for like 10 years when I lived right by it.

Then today I went to the shopping area that is right near my house for something else and noticed Gamestop there is also gone. Like the store signs above the store are just flat out gone and the shops look like they are ready to be leased by someone else.

If i go on the website though it still shows them open. I just tried to call them for shits and giggles and 1 said the number is not in service and the other just kept ringing.

So is Gamestop just slowly closing up a bunch of shops during this pandemic? I missed the news if so. I rarely go to them but I was never one of the cool hipster haters and always enjoyed going into the stores when I needed something.

They’ve been hemorrhaging money for years. Like they were at almost at $1b in lost revenue for around 7 years in a row.

Covid just keeps knocking more holes in the already sinking boat. They keep trying to add things or do things different on the store front but all the issues are on the corporate front.

Netflix She-Ra was pretty damn awesome honestly. Design was pretty lit to imo, but beyond that show was quite good.

And yea I don’t give a shit about 4k, most games now struggle with 1080p and a consistent frame rare so 4k (which I don’t own a monitor that goes that high anyway) can fuck off.

Let’s just agree to disagree about She-Ra.

Sure. Did you watch it?

Tried to watch it. I wasn’t She-Ra to me so I peaced out. I already know from our back and forth with TLJ that you and I have different views when comes to what honors the legacy of an IP. So there is no point and getting into it. We think differently on the matter, so it would be a waste of time. That’s why I said, let’s agree to disagree.

No I’m fine to agree to disagree, just was curious if you had watched it. That’s all.

When it comes to reboots of things I like, I’m more of a He-Man 2002, Thundercats 2011 kind of guy.

Last Jedi was awesome.

Until Rise of Skywalker ruined it.

Im not biting but for a series called “saga of skywalker” they started off making Kylo Emperor tier (that blaster force freeze was dope) and after each movie he ends up being Han Solo tier (with a blaster on hand wtf).

The reptile half of my brain wants to see this topic grow into a full blown, completley uncivil war about why Last Jedi is good/bad.

I jumped into a Gears 5 Horde session that was on “Insane” difficulty yesterday…and mannnn that shit was rough, even as I played the gloriously OP Kait…funny thing is that “Insane” is no longer the top-rank difficulty, actually. Anyway, it was a “Frenzy” one so that only goes to wave 12, and I came into it about 7 or 8… at that difficulty, if the enemies manage to hit you once you’re going down immediately so the margin for error is incredibly slim. We initially failed wave 12 which had a combo of Carrier and that Berserker bitch as the duo boss combo… 2nd attempt I hit Kait’s invisibility ultimate to execute some of the drones… then realized we had enough in the fabricator to buy at least a few things so I got out the cryo-cannon… Carrier is the easier boss and it was already dead at that point so we just had the Matriarch Berserker left… freezing her is such a great tactic, but it appears to take longer on higher difficulties I guess…still that went a long way in helping us eventually kill the bitch… haha, and I got the “MVP” ribbon on this one. Sheeeeitttt, this was an epic one for sure. Most people play the lower difficulties though so it can be a “chill” session and you can win with doing whatever.

yeah, and another high damage wave I noticed yesterday on another one… as Kait I had 215,000+ damage in a wave. This character, man  I’ve seen people hit higher damage with that though (usually someone playing a JD if I recall, who is another ridiculous character)
