Double decker combo
It’s funny as EA wasn’t the only company who did this during this era. Ubi, Activision, Sony and Capcom did it. EA was just the most aggressive about it.
Edit: oh, he mentions that. Lol.

Considering how much shit the gaming industry has done in terms of monetization I’m actually amazed that the community has managed to fight back the Online Pass model. Publishers hate the idea of used games so they tried pulling a “nuh-uh, no multiplayer until you pay some more!” thing. I think the 2012 Twisted Metal for example had a voucher inside when you bought it new. Definitely at least one or two PS3 exclusives had that shit. Army of Two 2 did as well iirc. Can’t remember any others though
Aight…
well, I didn’t know this until noticing one of my friends playing the game early—but if you pre-order online with Destroy All Humans, you could get it early…along with those bonus skins. So… I have it now already. I haven’t actually started it up though since I was addicted to Gears 5 all weekend and currently…ha, I played another small session of Horde early this morning, actually…on my main profile I’m up to “Major” in the Tour…I was in a match yesterday with a dude that already had General rank since he had the “UIR Cosmonaut” skin equipped…heh, yesterday I hit a new damage high point for Kait in Horde… it was around 328,000 something damage on 1 boss wave…that broad is OP as hell, man … and I love it. (*likely because I killed the boss early… kill one immediately and the game just spawns another boss)
I played a bit more of regular Vs. mode again… getting a bit better now; slowly adjusting to increased sensitivity settings on my aim…you have to get higher sensitivity against real human opponents, but I suppose anyone who plays competitive modes in shooters already knows that…if you can’t swivel around and look/aim as fast as other people you literally have no chance. It’s also just a cool thing for me whenever I get to play Locust/Swarm side, since the people behind this franchise have some weird thing about NOT letting us play as the bad guys in anything but Vs. modes. (WHERE the hell is Beast Mode, guys? C’mon now…and as if to troll—there’s a mode simply called “Co-op vs. AI”…BUT you’re always COG/good guys in that too…never Locust/Swarm.)
anyway, I’m definitely getting into Destroy All Humans later today, perhaps on lunchbreak or just after work.
MUTHAFUCKIN YESSSSSS…
Hell yeah
Woah woah woah, imma need to get down on some of this calibur action. I’m like triple OG status for calibur series. Psn kilikAbeast, let me know!!
Ghost of Tsushima patch dropped today
New difficulty level: Lethal
- Enemy weapons are more deadly, but Jin’s katana is also more deadly.
- Enemies are more aggressive in combat.
- Enemies detect you faster.
- Tighter Parry and Dodge windows.
Patch 1.05 will also include the following new options in the accessibility menu:
Lower Intensity Combat
Lower intensity mode is meant to maintain the heart and feel of Ghost of Tsushima combat while relaxing several timing-specific elements. Combat is less intense, giving you more time to react. Stealth settings are more forgiving, and enemies take longer to detect you.
- Most enemy attacks which are normally unblockable become blockable when Lower Intensity is enabled. Blocking with L1 will keep you safe from more attacks than standard combat, though some attacks must still be dodged.
- Enemies break off their attack combos after damaging you, giving you a chance to recover before the next wave of attacks. In addition, your heavy attacks will interrupt attacks from Brutes, giving you another way to stop their combos.
- Enemies will not attack you while you’re using Resolve to heal.
- Enemy awareness builds more slowly, giving you more time to recover after being spotted.
Text changes
- Large Text option: Increases text size of subtitles, mission objectives and interact prompts by 150% when enabled.
- Added option to turn speaker name off when subtitles are enabled.
- New subtitle text color options in addition to white: Yellow, Blue, Red, Green.
Patch 1.05 also includes additional bug fixes.
Damn new patch already, that was quick!!
I was planning on doing a 2nd playthrough on Hard Mode in the future.
The Suikoden Successor looks amazing but I don’t think it’s going to find its full funding. Suikoden is a pretty obscure title plus they’re asking for 500k. Which normally, yeah, not much for a title. But again, Suikoden is super obscure and hasn’t been relevant in decades.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rabbitandbearstudios/eiyuden-chronicle-hundred-heroes
I set a reminder for it just in case though.
Edit: hm, I immediately take back what I said. They might actually and likely will get the funding. When I looked at it not even 20 minutes ago it wasn’t even at 20k and now they’re almost breaking their first 100k
Suikoden has a pretty dedicated fan base that spans the globe. The subject matter of the games where the 108 stars of destiny band together under a common banner kind of fits it’s fans perfectly and certainly emboldens their cause.
The suikoden revival movement is a group on Facebook that organizes a suikoden day every year and regularly keeps the spirit of the game alive. Shit, I got a suikoden tattoo way back in 2007. I really hope muriyama gets his funding.
Dedicated fan base doesn’t really mean much if they’re not willing to actually support the franchise or creator(s) endeavors.
Member berries don’t keep the lights on or the content flowing
More games should do this
I swear I thought I’d break my eyes trying to read the text in the Modern Warfare beta, and pretty sure the devs haven’t fixed that to this day. The text is SO fucking small, and it’s often against background that makes it even harder to read
And that’s just one example
It’s crazy how the technology keeps moving forward, yet somehow something so basic as text is still such an afterthought. It’s even weirder when the games industry champions for accessibility so much (The Last of Us II probably being the prime example of how to approach it in games, huge props to ND there with how many options there are). What, are people with poor vision supposed to be playing in front of their monitors/TVs, damaging their sight even further? Or use microscopes to read dialogue?
It will be funded by the end of today, I have no doubt. It’s at 365,000 out of 500k and rising. Already kicked in my $50.
i backed it too i’m here for a suikoden like experience. its also good to see stuff like this succeed. we won’t ever see a new shadow hearts but maybe we can get something like this.
Yeah. I hadn’t realized the Kickstarter launchd today. I thought it had been ongoing for a while. I’m glad its going to kicked. The game looks gorgeous.
I don’t really change my stance on what I said though. Fond memories don’t keep the lights on or content flowing. I’ve seen way too many things fall to way side whether it be due to hobbies or jobs where people have pleaded for more of xyz until the people who can make it happen need financial support.
It’s why so many community driven stores like hobby shops, comic shops and anime stores fail. People want to support them without actually supporting them.
You got too slowed by Geese_Pants
this is all true and it’s one of the reasons i try to put my money where my mouth is when something like this happens. hopefully it does well and we get more games like this in the future really the only jrpg’s that try to have shared univerese anymore are the trails games and technically persona and smt.
