What is this Smashboards place? Regale me. Is Super Smash Brothers really taken seriously, like a fighting game? Haven’t played it in years and even then, I played with my goddaughter and little cousin.
For real though as a dude who’s been apart of the FGC and Smash Community for 6 years, I don’t get the beef.

Seriously, it’s such a pathetic cop-out by them to ban Metaknight. Their machete’ing of Brawl’s content throws off the balance so much, and then they say the game is the problem.

Character-wise, for the new Smash, I would agree with whoever has been saying that we’ll see some Square-Enix character in there. Square-Enix is hurting for money and publicity, so sticking Sora in there and then putting KH1.5 or some stupid thing on WiiU would net them some much-needed cash. Either way, it’s going to be a character associated with a game on the Wii/3DS.
We’ll probably see some new Pokemon from XY to replace Lucario/Mewtwo (Mewthree being the most logical choice). Link’s moves will probably be tweaked to more resemble Skyward Sword than Twilight Princess (never played SS, so I don’t know how different that really is, though).
Calling this now, though:
- Downloadable characters everywhere.
- Ganondorf will return…and will still be a reskin of Capn Falcon.
- Falco, Fox and Wolf (if Wolf returns) will all still share the same Final Smash.
- Zero Suit Samus will have exposed midriff.
- New Fire Emblem character based on whatever game happens to be coming out around that time.
Edit: Oh, and I don’t know if Wiz still reads SRK at all, but somebody NEEDS to tell him to get out in front of the new Smash game. We all know that shit would get entrants aplenty at Evo, and there’s probably a sizable number of players that would think about getting serious about Smash if smashboards didn’t have their head so wedged up their ass.

So, it Nintendo only doing the one Direct on the 11th? I was hoping for a 3DS-focused Direct as well…
Cactuar been in more Final Fantasy’s than moogles. So it is natural that he feels up the character slot more so than any other final fantasy/kingdom hearts character.
From what I understand there’s going to be the main E3 direct that’s taking the same place as their previous conferences and then they’re immediately following that up with a Wii U showcase with Reggie and Miyamoto. Pokemon from what I’ve been reading is getting it’s own direct at some point during E3 and there are supposed to be other directs and events Nintendo is going to do doing througout the week supposedly. What and when they are is kind of still in the air.

It’s fine really Smash is a fun game regardless whether you take it seriously or not (save for Brawl’s tripping) so I know the hype for that game will be there and will only continue to build once they actually show the game. I’m eager to see what they’ve done myself but I think most of all that speculation and hype should get dumped into it’s own thread after the game is shown. Character speculation for Smash would easily take over the E3 thread for several pages by itself. At the same time though we’re all waiting for the time to go by until next week so letting the hype out may not be as bad…eh we’ll see how it goes shrugs.
