you’re kidding me? You know this effects people that borrow games from others and people who use services like Gamefly and Redbox right? Why should a person be charged a fee for renting a game or borrowing a game? Its bullshit.
This. I mean, do people honestly think that being unable to buy used games is the problem?
I borrow games all the time from my brother and vice versa. I’m not paying extra money just to try out a game my brother has, the fuck with that. Not to mention renting services would become completely obliterated.
However, now we’re getting conflicting reports on the Used Game issue.
I’m starting to think they will. Why would EA uniformly drop online passes completely because one system has this used game structure access. I think both systems will do it to mutually please publishers/developers…
Sony has been passive aggressive about it. They pretty much said they aren’t gonna use it BUT its up to other publishers if they want to do that or not. I personally think EA is the only braindead company that will use it.
Who cares? If you like the game you should be buying it to support what they did. Renting is just a way to be a cheap MF.
Borrowing is the same as buying used they aren’t seeing the money so why do they care?
You aren’t renting Street fighter or marvel are you? Why should other games that get just as much effort put into them see no money?
So what about 7 year old Johnny who’s parents can’t afford to pay 60 bucks for games all the time but can afford to do Gamefly every month? You’re saying tough shit to them? Fuck outta here with that nonsense.
How? You arent even looking at it from a business point of view. Why the hell should they care about people using stuff for free? Or renting for that matter because it does not help sales figures which is what they look at when sequel is in question. They get money for licensing the ability to sell yes but its not much compared to actual sales.
If I make something and I hear a friend say “aw that was fun I borrowed it from my cousin” I would ask him why the hell didn’t he buy it and support it then?
You don’t know how many times I hear people say this and that is a good game but they didn’t even buy it. If people would stop being so dam cheap we would see some good ideas branch out instead of the same games people complain about.
I don’t know about anyone else but I wasn’t getting all the games I wanted when I was younger. I was getting good stuff for Christmas and buying stuff with my birthday money.
Not everybody has disposable income like that and the matter of good games not selling has a lot to do with the retarded gamers nowadays that want easy mode stuff and companies sometimes not doing a good job of advertising games.
Back in the day, regardless of word of mouth, a lot of us rented games from Blockbusters and then maybe down the line got the game afterwards. It ain’t about being cheap and companies blocking used games only pisses the consumer off.
