I haven’t played the demo, but is it really that easy to just roll past zombies? If so that is kind of weak.
The dodge looks honestly ridiculous.
If my PC runs the demo, I’ll try checking whether or not you can cancel stuff like knife stabs into it, but to answer your question…
Pretty much.
It’s bad enough that all the extra space makes it a lot easier to juke them anyway. People who are already used to the RE2R zombies will have no problems at all.
I’ve seen Max just backdash out of the way when a mook tried to grab him. Not even a perfect dodge, just “I see the startup, bye.”
On the other hand, you better get the dodging times down for Nemesis. Dude makes Mr. X look like a care bear.
Edit:
What the!?
Timing to perfect dodge is hella lenient!
I was seriously considering picking up some more eShop or PSN credit from Gamestop, but seeing that they’re going to defy ordinances and not close makes me not willing to deal with their fuckery. The $100 worth of money I was going to spend in their store in May will go directly to Amazon.
Went back and finished Yak 4 proper. Made sure I had health items this time. All but 3 slots were filled with various Staminan, Tauriner etc. items. Properly leveled up Tanimura, too. Didn’t realized I missed that much on upgrades. He’s still not fully upgraded but it was better than what I was rocking before.
The last fight will be forever garbage.
Played some Yak 3 to hit up sub-stories that I missed. The VR machine in the Champion District is awesome. It’s a boss rush, but with fighting game health bars and the bosses have Dural’s various textures. It’s my new favorite thing in Yak 3 besides Mahjong and Karaoke.
Back to Yak 5 at some point. The taxi drive sections are gonna eat up so much of my time. Hope I get to finish it before I eventually catch the 'Rona and die.
If this is a new Virtua Fighter me and the 5 other people in NA who play it are going to be HYPE AF.

Max labbing dodges against Nemesis. If he actually starts the grab up, you better dodge. OHKO.

Played DOOM Eternal for 2 hours straight. I had to take a break, the game is relentless with its action and pacing. Whew.
This game will kick your ass and force you to make quick decisions if you want to stay alive, BUT it gives you all the tools to stay alive so if you do die, it’s on you for making some bad decisions.
Graphics are ridiculous. I’d say before this title some of the best graphics I’ve seen were from REmake 2, Metro: Exodus and God of War 2018. This game visually smokes them all, it just looks and animates so goddamn beautifully. Now in 2016 when you’d pepper enemies their flesh would come flying off, but in this game it just looks better. This poor hell knight…I threw a grenade and it ripped off most of its flesh in the process and it looked like the muscular system thing you’d see at the doctors office.
It feels like butter to play. General movement is slower, but I managed to get a skill early on that increases my movement speed after a glory kill, and once that is going it turns into Quake 1 or Quake 3 movement speed for a short time. This, on top of double jumps and double ground/air dashes makes movement feel really nice.
You have to use everything you have to stay alive. Chainsaw enemies for ammo, glory kills for health, light them on fire for armor, dash to get some space, etc. etc. You need to think on the fly constantly to stay alive. The back and forth between enemies feels great. So far the plasma rifle is my favorite weapon, it does disgusting damage and it has the short AoE explosion like it did in the last game(but it has the sexy weapon model of DOOM games of yesteryear.) It combined with the explosion+chainsawing enemies for ammo allows me to keep using it for a while, usually long enough to end entire encounters.
If you liked DOOM 2016 you will love this game guaranteed.

Attack no1. Haikyu before Haikyu existed
There’s no crying in volleyball.
You can only get those dodges when the zombies are going to attack. I fucked up a lot of dodges during my time with the demo.
Happy Doom Crossing day yall
Rip and Tear…into your very own island get away!
Happy Doom ETERNAL and Animal Crossing: New Horizons release day everybody!
Who knew polar opposite gaming communities would cross streams and come together to celebrate the others release?
I finished The Messenger last night. What a fantastic game that has such character and charm to it. The dialog in that game is like nothing I have ever seen and how it plays on both nostalgia and old school games. It is super long too for it’s type of game, but there is just a lot of variety to it that it didn’t feel too long.
My only gripe with the game are that the controls are super clunky in parts. It’s strange though because the controls are super tight in the game, but the game just has some parts where you have to do a lot of “advanced” stuff and that is when it starts to feel a bit clunky, and you will SWEAR you did a double jump or a float, but it doesn’t come out, and you die. It just got super frustrating at like 5 parts.
I guess I’d say another gripe would be some of the back tracking. There is only a handful of ways to get back into levels and you can only get back into about half of them, which means to get into the other levels you have to warp to one level, then go through the entire level to get to the adjacent one. It got a bit tedious after a while, but again never really turned me off because you can fly through levels once you know what you are doing and leveled up.
I finished it with all of the green orbs too, which gives you a nice upgrade that definitely helped me towards the end. I am guessing the final boss was much easier for me because of it.
Anyways, definitely recommend this game. Now I can start Blasphemous.
Isn’t that Sega thing just Segata Sanshiro?
We getting a Saturn classic?
