Without going too off kilter my job has reduced hours again (7am-8:30pm) and Tuesday’s will be for seniors and immunocompremized so they can shop. From 7am-9am, I think? Target, Publix, Albertsons, Safeway and most other major grocery retailers are doing the same.
Also any “points” (our penalty system) we get for calling in are being waved. So that’s cool?
If for whatever our store gets quarantined or you get covid-19 than you’ll get two weeks of fully pay. We also have an in house company called Sedgwick that talks with other insurance and medical facilities that lets Walmart know how long the person who’s sick will be out so Walmart wont terminate them.
Damn Gamestop…when Wal-Mart is beating you out on human decency then you know you’ve completely fucked up.
Haha. Yeah. I know I’m the grand scheme of things Walmart is a shit hole but outside of a few instances they’ve done right by me. Haven’t screwed me over or chopped me off at the knees with anything. Let me voice my concerns and frustrations.
Have been super cool with me asking for things at the last minute like time off. They’ve been awesome about letting me have the schedule I needed. They were awesome when I was sick last year.
It’s fine. I don’t like working there. But it’s fine. Lol. Also in the small town I live in it’s one of the highest paying jobs. So. 🤷🏻

No. No need. I feel totally fine. I’m doing like self isolation half going out and doing shit. I have to be out an about somewhat. I get cabin fever very easily.
Even if it’s just to grab food or run the store for something dumb or whatever I need to be out of the house or do something outside of work at least once a day to decompress all that anxiety. I actually just did a D&D session on Tuesday, which was really nice.
As for work I only work Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It’s been that way since January. So I’m there enough to make money but away enough that I feel I won’t catch anything.
I carry a small bottle of sanitizer with me at work. Have since day 1. We also have huge bottles of sanitizers at every register.
As for personal life I’ve also been more diligent about cleaning shit at home. I’ll use bleach wipes on my controllers and phone before and after long uses. And I bleach wipe my cpap mask as I go to bed and after I wake up. Also wash my hands before and after ever meal.
I appreciate the concern though. I have had respiratory issues my entire life cause my heart and while I’m not worried really, I’m also not stupid. So I’m doing what I need to do.
