Konami doesn’t care about their IPs enough to let them flourish again under a different company. Pachinkos and mobile garbage is all we’re gonna see from them going forward, coupled with occasional Castlevania rereleases

Whoah, hopefully my dream scenario of IPs being “rescued” from dumbass companies finally comes true then. With another company making a new Castlevania, I’d definitely be on board for that. With franchises like that, it would be our only hope of seeing something new that’s also worth a damn.
Others that need rescuing… it’s really just 2 that come to mind for me— Phantasy Star (yeah I’m aware of the open beta for the MMO that is tomorrow, I think. It’s just an MMO though, and I generally don’t like those…AND it’s a game that’s being brought here several years late…this has a big time uphill battle to win me over) and the Blood Omen franchise.

Necalli was a dope design, I’ll give him that tho. Almost seemed too cool to be a Capcom character, like he escapes from a pre-KoF 13 game.

This is nowhere near Necalli in my book because supposedly Necalli is some ancient being eating up souls of warriors for years but he shows up in this game and he’s completely anti hype. IIRC this dude got beat back by fucking Dhalsim. I’m not gonna knock Dhalsim’s prowess in fighting since the dude ain’t Dan but in the heirarchy of skill in the SF universe he’s prob mid tier canon wise. That’s nowhere near what needed to happen to take down Kronika, a being who by all manner of logic is probably the most broken in the MK universe in terms of capabilities who reset the MK universe succesfully who knows how many times before Raiden caught on as to what was happening. This isn’t even in the same realm.

The Boss in WWII is a game I didn’t know I needed until right now.
The cobra unit as protagonists would be great too. They’d have actual personalities other than just screaming their names.

Kronika was fucking stupid to be quite honest. She’s an omnipotent being who can literally control time itself yet somehow still loses as a result of Earthrealm warriors invasion and then getting her ass kicked by Super Saiyan God Liu Kang. The very moment that happened she should’ve just rewinded time back and, I dunno, cut Liu’s limbs so he couldn’t fight or something.
The only good thing about her was her thicc thighs

I thought Necalli was going to be the key to Ryu getting over satsui no hado, but nope. Turns out he just needed Dhalsim to help him with meditation… which he could’ve done back in Alpha.
I know a lot of people are like “WhO CaRes AbOuT StorIeS iN FiGhTiNg GaMes, ItS AlL AboUt ThE GaMePlaY”, but having hype stories helps sell the games imo. It’s why games like LoL get all these story trailers for certain characters and stuff.

if the bulk of kronika’s power came from the hourglass i can give her a pass for getting hands put to her but to be fair ive always thought mk’s god’s were useless they either never did anything or pulled a goku and waited till everyone was dead to do shit. ( not counting raiden or fujin)
IIRC she could not do that because all her power was being used to reset the time line.

problem with comparing mk’s story to street fighter is that in mk the stakes are high from the start with the cast being aware that the fate of the world depends on them winning. in street fighter like 2 niggas are there to stop bison and everyone else is just trying to see who’s the best.

That’s the thing though, in the very first chapter after Shinnok’s Fortress got blown up she just comes out of nowhere, and rewinds time for the fortress specifically, completely rebuilding it and enlisting the help of Revenant Liu and Kitana to help kill Raiden and create a new timeine
Yeah… If my memory serves me correctly then pretty much the only times the Elder Gods actually did something was intervening with Shao’s invasion of Earth (and even then that was MK9’s new timeline), and then let Raiden ascend to their ranks once Shinnok’s threat was put to an end in MK4
