I disagree, I think that games being supported after its release is a great thing.
Also, not doing it will be suicidal on this day and age that is expected by the vast majority of players.
Instead of waiting a year to get new content we get it through the year as it is ready.
Imo is more convenient and helps the games to feel fresh for the players.
I think that your posture is rather dumb.
So you want every game to dump the work they did just to be a ânew gameâ?
That is idiotic.
They can do all of that by revisions, season passes and supporting a game post launch and it will be more cost effective, not to mention cheaper for the costumer.
huh? i donât think you know the history of SNK they donât update their games they make sequels.
as of late with KOF XIV they made the game then introduce a couple of new dlc characters and gameplay changes updates and now theyâre done. Ok take a look at capcom still updating SFV, same with ASW with GG those games came before or at the same time. SNK is ready to release a new game but looks like Capcom and ASW rather be milking those cows to the death
Lmao this nigga.
The only reason why snk didnt release more dlc for kofxiv was because the game was an economic failure.
Just look at what they are doing with samsho.
Release it with a season pass and then updating it and adding more stuff post launch with new seasons.
You can bet your ass that if Kof is economically successful as samsho they will âmilk the cowâ as you say for years via season passes.
Since is stupid to ditch all the assets and engine to make a new game when they can iterate and polish what they have.
And i am wll aware of kof history.
Most of their kof games barely counted as new games back in the day, with only few doing actual system changes, but all of them still reusing assests and engine.
I find humorous how you dont want post launch support or revisions, yet call kof games new games.
Lmao. So fucking dumb.
Edit
You know why kof kept having such a bad rep with only 2 being considered worth a damn? 3 if you consider 11.
Because they barely iterated on the system changes they made, and every new mechanic they added was barely tested, which lead to rather buggy and kusoge games most of the time.
lol WTF?! every KOF from 94 to 2000 has huge amounts of work done when you consider those games were release one year after another. LOL I donât think you have played any of those games not only they reworked the art, stages, music, moveset changes, story, brought new characters overhaul old characters moveset, whole new music, intros, clothes ect. I can go on and on yeah they say most of those games are broken well while itâs true SNK at least tried to make new games instead of this endless updating. Kind of works the same Kof 94 was an early revision of what Kof 95 came to be, first KOF I believe was tournament viable, same as kof 96 and kof 97 pave the way what eventually came to be kof 98 and so on.
iâm not against updating the games but they sure as fuck building the game within this model which I think is wrong.
Nigga, i played all the kofs on arcade as they were released.
Most of the time, the work done to âdiferentiateâ each kof was a waste of time that could have been spent on actually working on the ideas and mechanics they swaped each year.
Considering that most of the old school kof community gravitates to 2 specific games tells you how well received were the other ones.
It is the whole reason why the last 2 kofs iterated on the ideas on those games.
And why KOF XV will do it as well.
And very likely will try to use a similar cast to KOFXIV.
Lol wut?
So you dont want revisions, dont want season passes but also want companies to update their games. But let me gues, only if they are new.
LMAO.
Make up your fucking mind
I think that only doing 1 update per season is not ideal, one of the advantages of the internet is that you can actually update and improve the games.
I think that only MK has done regular balance changes, so your complain is kind of out of the field.
All the other games have not been updated beyond bug fixes and new seasons each year, outside that nothing like what you are describing at all.
yeah you donât know shit. Youâre saying games like KOF 95 were a waste of time? come on now!. itâs probably the only KOF game a capcom player could play no doubt about it.
every KOF game from the 90âs were like a stepping stone, shit KOF 96 might be crappy but introduce new gameplay mechanics, sprite work, new characters, one the best OSTs of the series, Goenitz. How can that game be a waste of time?!. Youâre delusional
i actually donât know how often a fighter should be updated. i think the game needs a decent amount of time to breath but then sometimes theirs obvious shit like gt goku that needs to be fixed right away. i definitely donât like how a MK game changes monthly tho.
i think what kaede is saying is he doesnât like how games are being built around the model that something like sfv has where it was a shitty product that could maybe become a good one over time. instead of it being a complete game that is built upon after its already proven to be good.
Nigga, i am not the one here saying dumb and contradictory shit.
You want new games, but call the kof series a good example of that when it was always met with derision because of its reused assets for a decade+.
And you can say whatever you want, but there is a reason why of all the old school games, only 2 are considered worth playing.
The rest are considered filler, with 95 not being remembered fondly by the majority for how not kof it felt.
i do understand the different viewpoints to an extent. ideally with a fully updated game you would wind up with the best game in terms of gameplay and presentation but thatâs not always the case and if you liked the way the previous version worked your outta luck especially if you liked version 2.56 or some shit the best.
sigh!! youâre talking about with a pro player mentality and not a customer mentality. Why do you think SNk kept on releasing every KOF game every year?! yeah I suppose they were just trying to throw money away because they felt like it. I wonder why 3rd strike was so successful?. âfacepalmâ
KOF 95 had an scene and it was huge back then probably the first SNK game that made you completely forget about Capcom, it was the turning point for alot of Mexicans IMO this where the KOF craze started.
donât know about honduras I know you still play champion edition religiously or itâs tha Chile?!
I understand that pov, but tbh, the benefits outweight the cons.
Plus, the majority of games barely do balance changes outside the big new season update.
The best we can do, is to ask for the ability to change between versions.
But i do understand why most devs wouldnt allow it, since it fragments the player base online.
kof is kinda a weird case because even tho it was a coin flip if you were gonna get something good it always had a whole new soundtrack, stages, and after a certain point a new cast not counting the usual suspects and to some people that warrants a whole new purchase. with an update we usually only get 2 of the 3 if were lucky and not smash.
