Video Game General 7.0: Day Juan Ys: MoC June 9th & Wonderful 101 June 30th!

It was pretty bad. All you had to do was hold down one button and you were invincible while shooting out projectiles endlessly.

GG2 is awesome. I really wish someone would try that again and just refine the rough edges.

Dante’s Inferno was fun. We were spoiled with action games last-gen, it was great. Dante’s was one of the better ones.

Outside of the big three(Ninja Gaiden, DMC, Bayo) I liked this action game the most, the combat is like butter:

Super fun game. You had a shitload of combo strings and you could end any string at any time with a force power of some kind. You could also Jedi Mind Trick soldiers off of cliffs, parry/deflect projecitles, and it ran at 60 FPS. The first game wasn’t nearly as good, the combat was clunky and I remember it being kind of mediocre. It’s insane how much better the sequel is, it’s on some SF1 to II shiiiet.

It and Splatterhouse were pretty underappreciated. In Splatterhouse you could cancel any move into a throw, and it’d visually look like a 'Gief tick throw or some shit. Good times pt ii shook juans

Splatterbouse (SNES or Genesis) used to give me nightmares as a kid. Probably the first survival horror game I ever played if you could label it that (although it’s pretty much a beat em up)

haha, I still laugh about that one time in Dante’s Inferno for this reason…when you finally see Satan in that game, it’s full frontal nudity, and you actually see Satan’s dick flopping around.

edit—ah, of course I should’ve realized others mentioned this already. …but yeah that game was awesome, imo…also surprising that it didn’t stir up any controversy. (*perhaps another case of those types that normally complain about such a game were and still are simply unaware of its existence…a game where you are literally in Hell, you get to see Satan’s penis, and there’s ā€œunbaptized babiesā€ you can kill.)

That jump cross move obliterated everything.

Never thought I would want a game called Grand Theft Horse. Don’t forget about that fucking windjammers 2 demo.

Tried the Windjammers 2 demo, and it sucks that they decided to use delay-based netcode for it. Here’s hoping that they change their mind for the full version.

Anyone else find that LoU2 thread weird as hell?

People were talking about it a bunch here, so a thread was made to move discussion there.

They might not want another convo about it started here.

That’s not why I think it’s weird, but I’ll leave it alone. Y’all do ya thing.

Honestly the shit with Windjammers 2 will be a good sort of community test and how much people really do care about netcode.

Like what the creator said is a copout, but at the same time I understand the frustration. ā€œIf you’re gonna bitch about the netcode even when we use the most optimal one, why waste the time, effort and money?ā€ Now I never played Windjammers so I don’t know how well the original optimized GGPO. Maybe the game just doesn’t work that well with it and more work needed to be done to really make it better.

I feel there’s just still so much people do not understand about how netcode works so it’s to the point where you either put in that time and money to try and go above and beyond for a group of people who may not notice or care, or just not give a shit, save money and figure that the complaints will be the same no matter what you use. Unfortunately most FG developers choose the latter.

Define weird?

But yeah, most of the discussion happened here anyway, even though that thread was supposed to be the containment zone.

Hahaha Overture is fucking goofy was weird. I love that it’s still fucking Canon to lol.

Yea I think that thread is super fucking weird. It’s title should be changed to Shoudenfraud.

Crash trailer coming soon…

GG2 is amazing. Gonna reinstall that again. :triumph:

Unwound never call GG2 amazing, but it is interesting.
