Both turned profitable, but it took them years to do so.
I think it was only until one year left before the release of current gen that they finally saw a profit from the consoles.

Oh They still are? I was under the impression they at least broke even.
Top of that the Xbox brand is the least profitable part of the company.
I think Bing makes more in a month than Xbox does in a year now.
It was more than a billion actually. IIRC MS did make money on 360. Now the OG Xbox is another story. That’s the real reason it was killed after 4 years. They signed a bad deal with Nvidia. Nvidia was charging them a flat charge for the GPU. So basically the cost of it never went down, so with each price their loss per unit increased with the OG Xbox.

It is also the reason why the OG Xbox didnt read DVD out of the blue.
It was cheaper to manufacture and sell some few of those adapters that allowed the Xbox to do so, than just pay a fee for every unit that was manufactured.

So EA Motive’s been saying all the right things about Squadrons.
I’m an old fart, so I remember X-Wing and TIE Fighter, they’re a big inspiration for me. And you get a lot of these different kind of threads of Star Wars fan juice coming from different angles.
First and foremost, it’s inspired by World War II aerial combat footage. You see that in the original films, even down to the fact that the TIEs have green lasers and the Rebels have red lasers. That’s because those are the colors of the tracer fire in World War II for the Axis and Allies. There’s that heritage you see there, and so we’re trying to keep that same kind of theme
We tried to start with something that felt, again, like that World War II simulation kind of basis, in terms of how the ships actually handle, how they move. It is, as in your example, more terrestrial.
Putting points in lasers period makes the lasers recharge faster. So you can shoot more regardless of which specific kind of laser you have equipped on your ship. And, similarly, putting power in shields makes your shields regen faster, regardless of specifics.
Of course, it’s EA, so I’m prepared to be disappointed, but I’ve been fiending for something like the classic X-Wing games that this is looking quite tempting.

I Swear Nvidia don’t understand the console gaming scene, with the Development of PS4 and Xbox One Nvidia wanted top billing over Microsoft and Sony on the console branding, and MS and Sony both said nope and Nvidia walked away from the table. AMD was more than happy to fill in what their competitor refused to do. AMD didn’t care about the brand recognition as they had the sales contract.
I think they learned their lesson with Nintendo on the Switch.

I’m sorry, but I came back in just to retort this bullshit logic.
He can apologize and pretend it was an accident all he wants. I refuse to believe he just “let slip” one of the literal biggest plot points in the game. He’s had a bias against the game from the start despite his ability to admit it. A plot point that has specifically and painstakingly been kept secret by Naughty Dog since its such an important piece of story in the first fucking hour of the game.
I mean, that’s seriously like spoiling the biggest deaths in Avengers Endgame, on release day, in the movie thread, and then pretending it should be common knowledge on hour zero. Fucking no, just no.

How is gameplay not a spoiler? Any info you gain by second hand is technically spoils.
How much that effects you personally is a different matter. Things like weapons and spells have lore implication for Souls despite being gameplay mechanics and are thus spoiler territory.

To be fair in a lot of the games featuring the anime goods some of those characters look underage even if they are not. There is a fine line and Sony seems intent on not crossing it or letting others cross it on their consoles now.

There is no set line though. It’s arbitrary. If small indie dev wants to do something its censored. If a big publisher, with pull, wants to get something in they can. Sony is has gone full YouTube. The rules aren’t applied the same across the board and some people can do things that others cannot.
TLOU2 from what I’ve read in the spoilers is graphic in all regards. You can’t even say Sony is applying the American standard to what they are doing. In the US live action movies are looked upon more harshly that an animated movie with similar content. I.E. if a photorealistic game can get by with such a scene then an anime one should get the same deference. TLOU2 is published by Sony though, so I guess the rules don’t apply.
