New NFS coming…

Criterion made those Burnout games I think, new NFS should be a banger

A new NFS, a decent one at that, is nice, but what I really want to see is a new Ridge Racer.

They made the 2010 NFS Hot Pursuit and the 2012 NFS Most Wanted.
To of my favorite games of all time.

In theory this are great news.
But…
… All the people who made those games left the company years ago.
All the current staff are people who have only worked on the EA FPS games as a suport studio.
And it will probably run on Frostbyte, that while it looks great so far it has never been optimized properly for racing games, so you have a lot of glitches and worst, games running at 30fps.

I heard that Heat is not bad.
But in consoles is worthless since it is locked at 30fps.

I like Heat. It’s a return to form. It has visual and mechanical customizations. There are no microtransactions and a solid variety of cars. My only complaint is that engine swaps cost too much money. I have it on PC though. Fuck that 30fps nonsense.

Considering that EA’s released a number of games in recent memory not running on Frostbyte, they might as well just give up on trying to use it for everything.

This is mostly about me than the game (outside the 30fps).
But since is a tunner game i am not really interested.
I come from the original games, focused on super and exotic cars.
When i think of NFS, i think Lambos, Ferrairs, McLarens, not Toyotas

But at least is good that EA corrected almost all the issues from the previous NFS of Heat.

Exotics are in the game too man. :+1:t5:

So far, the only games not running on FrostBite are the ones made by Respawn and the ones where they are oly publishers.

Outside that, i think that all the other devs are kind of required to use it.
Is not enforced, but…

Stadia? Who cares? They literally can’t give it away. I know they’ve tried give me Stadia on multiple occasions and I’m not the only one.

Weren’t those games developed by Respawn? They are the only EA studio that seems to run with any autonomy

IIRC is because the CEO of respawn managed to negotiate for tht when they were aquired by EA.
He also is part of the top executives at EA (due said negotiations) so he is always keeping an eye to keep his team out of EA’s fuckery.

I wish Rockstar would bring back Midnight Club. Dub Edition was probably one of my favorite racers ever, very Arcadey and had a sick amount of ways you could customize your car

As long as they don’t just turn it into a fake burnout again like they did with MW2012, yeah, sure, why not

I still can’t believe Rockstar were quick to double dip on GTAV hype across two generations of consoles one right after another, but Midnight Club LA seems like it was all but forgotten about, there are no rumors about a new entry in the series, PS4 launched almost 7 years ago but Los Angeles has received no remastering whatsoever (just backwards compatibility on XB1), and the game also completely lost its online functionality (multiplayer, livery sharing, car exchange) too

GTA and RDR Online print Rockstar so much money now they don’t even need to care about any of their other IPs it seems. Fucking sucks.
V also never got any single player expansions either
