Video Game General 7.0: Day Juan Ys: MoC June 9th & Wonderful 101 June 30th!

And on the subject of rollback

It will have the rollback netcode that Code Mystics created for Garou and Samsho5sp, which is fucking good.

I like Simonā€™s Quest.

I feel like I just announced I was gay or something saying that around here.

What is it about Simonā€™s Quest you like? That goes for anyone else here like it. @StuartHayden. Iā€™m asking earnestly.

There are certainly games others would argue (and I wouldnā€™t exactly disagree) are bad but I still like them all the same.

Except your argument often devolves to ā€œrollback canā€™t work for some gamesā€ or ā€œrollback is only suited to some gamesā€ when actual devs have said otherwise. As keits said in the HBTB video, all that matters is that the game is deterministic, which all fighting games are.

Does work need to be done to get it running efficiently? Yes. But thereā€™s nothing in the genreā€™s base design that makes it so that itā€™s impossible for certain games.

Also, MKX shows you can get rollback on a game that didnā€™t have it in the first place.

I didnā€™t say I liked it. I just say with proper translation itā€™s a totally different feeling title. Which is true, imo But a lot of inner workings of it still makes it ass lol

Read dense motherfucker.
READ.

Edit
I am not gonna waste my time explaing myself again for someone who doesnt read what is being discussed and makes overly wrong assumptions on what it is being discussed and what the postures of people discussing are.

It is ok, we all have our questionable taste.

I for instance like the N64 library and feel it was underrated for puzzle games.

Itā€™s not Code Mystics though. The credits list Digital Eclipse so itā€™s likely the rollback code from SF30th.

sheeeitttt, I liked Simonā€™s Quest. The only thing that was a downer to me was how pitifully easy Dracula was at the endā€¦it was actually the first time I remember being disappointed with a final boss fight, as I sat there wondering ā€œā€¦ok that was it?!ā€ Dracula dies in just a matter of seconds in that battle; itā€™s pathetic.

<3 Yakuza hacks

Love the music. Love killing all the fucks. The mansion aesthetics are really cool. Branching paths, ferry men taking you across the lakes, all the townspeople turn into motherfucking ZOMBIES at night! Game is sick as fuck.

It was bad at the beginning, but It is waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than SF5. The SF5 loungers have basically switched to 3S and weā€™re all playing together on 30th.

That ish is night and day from 5. Connections that are barely playable on 5 are suddenly great in 30th.

SF5 is bad in a lot of ways.

Could it maybe be the amount of people playing each game? I mean i dunno but Iā€™m sure 30th has less traffic then V.

Gotta say the amount to work SNK is putting into that collection is pretty baller. All the games have online? Nice! Still miffed that Alpha 2 didnā€™t get online for the SF 30th anniversary collection.

As notorious as V is for itā€™s netcode, Iā€™ve honestly had very little issues when both players have stable connections. Donā€™t know if Iā€™m just lucky or what.

30th is like the second most ideal way to play Third Strike imo, with the best experience Iā€™ve had being on 3SO. Fightcade is an option of desperation.

Iā€™m still surprised that Capcom didnā€™t port cvs2 for modern consoles with online.

Seems like easy money.

I donā€™t think the rest of the world likes CvS2 as much as we do here. At least with something like MVC thereā€™s a lot of demographics that bleed into each other to appeal to.

Probably licensing issues. I heard they fell out with SNK pretty bad after that game, apparently Capcom fucked them over good. Donā€™t quote me tho
