I recently got that same Xmen vs street fighter CIB. In actuality I wanted the 4mb ram cart, and XvsSF was cheaper than getting the cart loose, but it’s still a great game.
Lol got me fucked up if you think I’m abusing mod powers.
Its bad enough I made a twitch channel for the forums. Once that gets unveiled, I’ll probably get banned for 1K years again.
It seems your issue isn’t isolated. In the Digital Foundry video, they also mentioned not being able to launch the game.
Also, for some reason, the Windows Store and XBone versions are missing some graphical features.
I gotta contribute to VGM Fridays
I finally got first place in darts in FF7R, did it on hard mode and I got…nothing…
My more random contribution to VGM Friday
I really wished more composers did more music like FF7R, MGR:R, Transformers Devastation, etc with the different levels to their tracks cause when it’s done properly its so hype inducing. That second run through of Blitzwing’s theme when that guitar hits and starts taking over gets me everytime it shows up on my playlist. Its already a head banger without it and then it goes even further.
You get something for it later on
When Jesse gets hurt and Wedge stays with her at the bar. Wedge gives you something for getting first place.
If this was the only OST Yuzo Koshiro ever composed he’d still be one of the best. Just about every piece on this is at least 8/10 if not higher.
This is one of my favorites, I love the section where it breaks down especially:
yeah, Actraiser was one of the reasons I wanted SNES at that time… I had never heard that level of music in a game before…it was incredible…and the game itself still ranks as one of my favorite games of all time. On a top 100 it’s most likely still inside the top 10 of that for me.
Streets of Rage 4— finally beat the last stage and fight… so I have “Classic” version of Axel unlocked now, though I’m playing Arcade at the moment with Adam… so far things seem MUCH easier with Adam, compared to Floyd. I have actual movement speed to work with here, and Adam’s moveset is REALLY good stuff.
hahah there’s one early level where you start off in a jail cell
with a toilet…and I just noticed they went so far as to add the detail of flies buzzing around that toilet bowl nice… there’s toilet paper draped over the side of the bowl, as if someone dropped a whole roll in there.
I remember watching the Breaking the Universe video by Toxy and Lezard on ComboVideos the day it came out. I was already neck deep competitive MvC2 at the time but the combo video made me want to not only learn XvSF and the others showcased but for whatever reason it gave me the idea of maybe if I understood those games better it’d help me understand MvC2 more. I ended up finding an import Saturn, ram cart and the game complete off eBay. I don’t remember how much I paid though.
But I loved XvSF. At certain points I moved it more than MvC2. I played Zangief/Storm because I absolutely loved the fact the game was so busted that even Zangief had an infinite
God I love this combo video
XvsSF was what got me into Capcom fighters, and fighters in general. That shit blew my mind when I saw it at an arcade in a casino. X-men AND Street Fighter in a game that looked like an anime come to life. I’d have never thought we’d see two totally different franchises mashed together like that
Also, just so happed, 10 ft or so away from the XvsSF cabinet was a SF3 cabinet. That arcade was heaven
The arcade I essentially grew up in had
- MvC2
- 3S
- CvS2
- KOF94, 98, 2k2
- XvSF
- Melty Blood (this wasn’t until the twilight years right before they closed)
- Soul Calibur 2
- Tekken 3 and TTT
- Virtual On
- Over the years had every version of DDR
- Cruis’n World
- Crazy Taxi
It was such a great arcade but almost no one knew about and people who did didn’t really like traveling to it cause of the reputation the arcade had (lots of loiterers and people my age or older constantly asking for money) so I didn’t really blame them for it.
It’s why I constantly traveled to neighboring arcades or other people’s houses for meet ups. Try to find some sort of neutral ground and try to convince them to come to my neck of the woods
I eventually got more and more people to come because I was there legit every Friday-Sunday And eventually almost everyday from open to close if I didn’t have a previous engagement and I was really good friends with the assistant manager. So I had a lot of knowledge of the foot traffic and when said loiterers wouldn’t be around. Once they did start coming around more they realized how great the arcade was.
Shortly after I moved the weekly amount of money they made plummeted. I don’t have the ego and I’m not arrogant enough to to say it was because of me moving away when I was 21 almost 22 but having knowing the assistant manager and owner well enough they’d always tell me outside of DDR whatever competitive game I was focusing on at the time for whatever reason made the most money. So take it for what you will.
I miss the place the place terribly as much as I hated it. The AC never worked, the carpet was disgusting, I hated all the mall rats and juggalo’s who kept trying to be my friend cause I always had money on me.
It actually got to the point where I got so annoyed by people I didn’t know or pretended to know asking me for money that any point any of them would ask me for money I’d immediately stop what I was doing, regardless of if I was in the middle of a set or money match or whatever to go around the food court where the arcade was at, collect applications from all the business in the food court and then hand them to the person that was asking me for money. Lol. I use to get the best “fuck you” faces. Lol
But I had so many sets with people for pride, for money, to settle beefs in so many games over the years. It was such a huge part of my life. I went there almost weekend and eventually almost every day for almost a decade. It was my stomping grounds
Transformers Devastation is quite possibly the best TF game ever done, I just wish it was longer or we got a sequel. The soundtrack is absolutely incredible
So I finally decided to give GTA V a try. Game is fuckin’ hilarious. And thats what I expect from GTA games. Lots of laughs.
The cops are lame fucks though. I punch a person I get a 1-star wanted level and the cops will shoot me and come after me en mass. I shoot a person and nothing. I have to shoot 2 or more for the cops to be alerted. I guess they kinda like the cowardly cops now.
I fired it up really just so I could show my lady the radio in the cars. I got in “my” car and turned it the the classic rock station. I parked the car and me and my lady did chores while listening to the radio. Then I decided I’d “play” a bit and thats when I saw how bad punching a person could be. Then I was told to get armor and jack a army jet. Army jet you say? So I take a cab to the gun store. Stupid cabbie got stuck sorta so I jacked him. Then I took up as a cabbie and started collecting fares. Didnt take long for me to become a psycho murderer who kills fares that have remote drop off locations. Soon after I fell into the degenerate world of prostitute murder.
That joke sucks! Even more so because laptop and PC are there. they both pc’s. Get out
So I was playing GTA 5 now. Man, I saw a dead guy on the ground so I decided to kick the corpse. Cops started shooting me. I kicked that fucker once.
Cool Story Bro, no one cares.
The thing is though, what ever equipment is made standard on a console actually tends to drive what becomes standard use gaming hardware even for PCs. For example, most devs actually learned to work on multi-core (more than 4 cores) with the PS3. Same thing with SSDs. PS5 is using a higher speed than what even PCs have now, once devs get on that, the expectation is that high speed SSDs are going to become a standard moving forward.
It’s discussed a bit at the start of the video (which also goes into why AMD has been going hard into console hardware).
