On the visual side the only thing that bums me out about FF7RE is the incredibly long pop-in times. Iā€™m actually pretty forgiving of pop-in as long as itā€™s quick but thereā€™s times it takes almost 30 seconds it feels like

So i finally grabbed a PS4 Pro. What is the suggested way to move things over from my OG PS4? Or should i just make a fresh start on the new system? Also i have the Silent hill demo from back in the day am i going to lose the rights to re-downloading that as well?

You canā€™t re download PT. It has to be on the hard drive of the PS4 from when it released years ago. People have sold their PS4ā€™s with PT on their systems for thousands.

You might be able to use an external hard drive to transfer it, but Iā€™m not 100% sure on that. Personally I wouldnā€™t risk it.

I wish I still had the PS4 that had it downloaded. Had no idea it would be so valuable one day.

Wow really? I know it was rare but man didnā€™t think folks would drop thousands on a system with it. Funny enough my OG system is the MGS V PS4 i had to import since i love me some Kojima madness. Iā€™ll have to do some digging then. Thanks for the heads up!

Just connect the systems via Ethernet cable and transfer the data. The system itself has an option for that. Itā€™ll take a while, but itā€™s by far the most painless method to get everything transfered exactly as-is. Then make it your primary console.

still not yet done with FF7Rā€¦

but I have to say this game is a masterpiece IMO. Itā€™s just so well done and I am about to consider this over the original.

I fell in love with Aerith, the way they wrote her in this game is 10x better than the original. I didnā€™t care much about her or her death in the original but here, they made sure she was highly likable. That scene where she tells cloud not to fall in love with her, I felt that shitā€¦ regardless of this characters entire story being 20+ years known.

What i like most about this game is that the acting and script is superb. There is no cheesy lines, there is no lame ass comments, no wtf voice reactionsā€¦ everything is so well written, with excellent BG music and realistic character reactions (Jesseā€™s death).

In terms of gameplay,
Iā€™ve read a bunch of retards complaining about ā€œpaddingā€ and I donā€™t get why. It is more fun to play than the original, mainly because I feel so engaged and connected to the characters. While I do wish the summons where much more accessible, i have 0 complaints about the ā€œpaddingā€.

Great game. Hopefully the second part isnā€™t going to take long.

This is how Aerith was originally supposed to be. But a lot was lost in the original, rushed, english translation. Plus, every game since, sheā€™s been flanderized to being this bland, ā€œpure and innocentā€ girl.

Same with Cloud from what Iā€™ve read. If nothing else the new translation is a big step up.

I will say that some of Barretā€™s goofiness seems to be lost in the English script. Iā€™m playing in Japanese though so maybe the delivery is more lighthearted in practice

I loved the main characters in the original FF7, the remake just makes me like them even more now that they have been expanded upon, the voice acting also helps get that across a hell of alot more than simple text. Their characters are what I remember, just more in-depth :man_shrugging:t5:
