I would maybe download the mlb game just because my brother in law and a cousin like baseball (it is not a thing in my country)
I will now play Last of Us to see if itâs worth my time and if the new one gets bought.
Me & survival horror games got a bad relationship, i turn into a straight bitch playin em. Lol
But Iâll make it my business to play RE2 & Last of Us, they truly look like great games I need to play
Last of Us isnât a survival horror, imo
I thought it was about zombies, is that wrong?
Oh, my basic knowledge of the series is that it has zombie like creatures so I assumed.
Sorta. There arenât really jump scares or survival horror elements though.
Itâs more of a survival action game. Similar to Days Gone but not an absolutely dumpster fire like DG is. The only thing survival horror based IMO is the you craft a lot and there are âzombiesâ. But they are not âtraditionalâ zombies or âbioengineeredâ zombies
The story is heart breaking and makes you question a lot of shit. When I played just the prologue I was so emotionally fucked up I didnât play the game again for 2 weeks.
Similar situations happened throughout the game but didnât make feel as bad but still made me quit playing for x amount of days.
I bawled my eyes out several times throughout playing.
I originally hated the ending but after a 5+ hour conversation with a friend who had beaten it hours before me I thought âman, of a game makes me feel this wayâŚit obviously did something rightâ.
Itâs hands down one of my favorite games of all time. Nothing has really came close to making me feel everything I felt while playing it and after the fact.
Part 2 has some very big shoes to fill.
Zombies doesnât automatically mean survival horror tho.
More like Broccoli Men anyway.
All my perceptions about this game are gone.
I wouldnt call it survival horror per se, but it has many elements of the genre that is comprehensible if some people would call it one, imo
There is a fungus involved that can take over human motor functions but a lot of the game is spent killing groups of looters and taking on small militias. It is better as a lets play movie as most of it can be cheesed by standing next to brick spawn points or using bottle throw diversion for running away. The core gameplay mechanics are serviceable but not refined enough to give a player full control over combat. If you like stealth it might be interesting.
Highly recommend Evil Within 2 over Resident Evil 2 Remake and Last of Us. It is far more polished in the gameplay department and has a wonderful supernatural/matrix-like flare. The reason I do not recommend Resident Evil 2 Remake is because bullet sponge enemies with limited ammo usually force a player to cap zombie knees if the player is in the danger zone and run along to the next item/puzzle/door. There are also quite a few changes from the original that devalue the whole experience but you are unlikely to care about that if this is your first rodeo.
Thatâs what survivor horror is. Getting away from the zombies is prioritized over actually killing them.
Most of RE2 Remakes changes where for the better and finding ways to not waste ammo and deal with zombies other ways is what makes it such a good Resident Evil game imo.
Survival horror is more about using resources wisely as opposed to avoiding exploring game mechanics in any interesting way. Since the start of the genre it was possible to plan tactical operations and conserve your supplies for tense situations so that you get the most bang for your buck.
Which is exactly how RE2 Remake works.
The issue is there is little satisfaction in using the gameplay mechanics even when you hoard supplies.
Disagree but thatâs a personal thing.
Now why Last of Us wanna break my heart in the 1st 10 minutes? I knew I shouldnât have started this
