So apparently more on that Fallout 76 shit show.

The private worlds aren’t actually private. Other players can see your instance and join it. Also infinite material box is truly infinite cause everything you put in disappears…like what the fuck happened to this company? :joy:

Edit: I got somewhat ninja’d :eyes:

The reactions I’ve read from people who have early access to Death Stranding is that it’s good but not great. The reddit crowd is also saying the story is pretty good and the last stretch is next level. I still dont have a full grasp of the gameplay loop which is wild to me.

Sounds about right. Seems like a good Let’s Play watch with some commentary.

I find it funny Sony made a huuuuuuge deal about TLOU2’s release date only for a month later be like “oops all berries. We’re pushing it back 3 months!”

While I get why they did and I appreciate that they are it’s just very funny too me. There are some absolute bangers coming out in Q1 too. So it’s probably smart they pushed it back so it can get as much exposure as possible.

Just make it a PS5 launch title.

I knew that some shit like that would happen.

Also, apparently the private servers are not persistent, once you log off, they go poof.
And if anyone that hasnt a fallout worst subscription is on the server gets inmediately disconnected.

Bethesda is the meme that keeps giving.

Not trying to defend Bethesda but they have one Online game, just the one.
Yeah there ESO but thats ran by their parent company, not them.

I remember way back where FF XIV was a even bigger dumpster fire, and some how Square Unfucked themselves. I doubt Beth as it in them to unfuck the mess that’s 76, but who knows.

I can see shitting on them if they had a long history of doing this shit to other online games.
But we got the one, yeah they shat the bed hard on this one, but their single player games are still top notch for terms of Playability.

After tons of fan patching yea sure they have playabilitiy.

Squee was smart and realized how bad XIV was. They nuked the entire game which included closing EVERY server so they could rebuild the game 100% from the ground up.

Now it’s fucking awesome.

Oh I don’t have any doubt that a port of this game will show up on ps5 prob year 1. That or they’ll use the bc capabilities and say it will run true 4k 60fps on ps5 with a patch or something.

So like if Fallout 76 abandons its Fucking decades old game Engine and make one not based on the same Engine as Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4, maybe use something better suited to Online play.

Yeah I can see that happening, but how likely it would happen is anyone’s guess.

It wont.

Turns out that the private servers arent private at all.
They are instances hosted on bethesdas end that you can enter, but as it is now, you can end on a server that someone else aready looted.
Also, anyone on your friendlist can enter without you having to send and invite.
Not to mention many other bugs, like how the tent crashes the game when you try to set a camp.

LMAO

The problem has never been the engine, since there are other games that run on it that dont have this kind of issues.
Is all pure incompoetence from the staff when programming those games.
Also, the engine was 1st ddeveloped for online games, since many old school mmos ran on it without these kind of issues.

He goes in depth about all this stuff.

First, get this Zaric Zhakaron shit out of my face.

Second, You never saw how buggy Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, Fallout 4 and Fallout NV was, all based on a the same base engine (And Daggerfall make everything else look stable as a rock). And even with fixes and patches, Online needs that much better game engine to run, and the Creation Engine was never intended for Online Play.

Creation engine is an iteration of embryo, an mmo engine.
They then went and used the Hero engine for Skyrim online, and all the same shit that comes from their offline games ends on that engine that has been used for multiple other games that dont have that shit.
Just look at the laughable memetic implementation of Havok they done.

They need to ditch creation engine for a ton of reasons but glitches ain’t it. That’s on Beth. Switching engine isn’t gonna fix that problem.

What is Skyrim Online? Are you talking ESO?
That was Zenimax not Beth, Completely different group of people worked on that.

No Online game other than Fallout 76 uses the Creation Engine. The Creation Engine is a in house beth product loosely based off Embryo so that Beth can use the same tools and commands, and not pay royalties.

I bet that with a competent team, they could iterate the embryo engine into something very capable.
Just look at apex, that game is running on the source engine, and while it is starting to show its age in some places, is still a high quality product on par with multiple current offerings.

Yes ESO, it reuses a lot of internal developed tools made by bethesda, which shows.
And no, creation which is how they call this newest iteration is the same engine used since forever by them.
The same bugs from old games keep poping up on moder games because those incompetent hacks cant even bother to fix them.

TBH i would have never thought that you will be a bethesda stan, lol.
