I kinda feel for them in this department. Trying to review a competetive game in 1 month isā¦fucking impossible, especially with how they change after release now to. Itās so hard to dig into a character list and walk away having anything of real value to say about them in such a short time span.
With that said a lot of the shit these dudes say shows that they really just dont play fighting games at all. Like they share fundamentally wrong information and that is pretty frustrating. I canāt really remember the last time I watched or read any kind of āofficialā review about a fighting game. Fighting games are probably one of the few genres I never really get impressions on. I just have to buy it and play it and see if I like it. I try to do some research and watch matches to see if it even interests me, but for a fighter it really comes down to trying it for myself.

Still, popularity canāt make up for the mediocrity that is GT Goku. One great thing about the character is that he probably has the smallest hitbox in the game due to his short stature. But thatās about it. Heās a very short ranged fighter and is practically useless when it comes to long-range combat.
This whole article still gets memed on till this day. Definitely worth a read. Itās comedy gold throughout.

I took it more as GG players like to trot out the law book sized list of tech and mechanics the games have to try and convince people to play it but they just sound like lawyers speaking code only they understand.

This game is beautiful+I found my first big pimpinā item. A swArd that is perfect for my build. Things are getting fucking nuked right now. Iām building around attack speed+crit+raw melee damage and itās working out well so far.
The animations and graphics are amazing, but the combat is the highlight here. The animations are so, so goddamn amazing and it makes the combat extremely satisfying. It feels amazing to play man, and my character is only level 20-something.
There are no classes and you can use any skill you find or buy ALA Diablo 1/Sacred 1 & 2, as long as youāre rocking the right weapon type. You can have a mainhand swArd but be offhanding a catalyst, so you have access to all of your melee skills AND caster skills at the same time. You can do the same with a 1-handed weapon+xbow too I believe, itās really cool.
I am impressed. I think I like it more than Grim Dawn already and I sunk a 100+ hours into that game or so. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeet
The skills are amazing. One skill is literally x-copied from God of War 2018, you can toss your mainhand and if you tap the skill again itāll fly right back to you. It hits like a truck+hits like a truck on its way back. My favorite skill so far is this dagger-exclusive skill that teleports you on top of enemies. If you hold down the skill(which I didnāt know at first) you will just keep swinging. It looks ridiculous and I melted the shiiet out of a boss with it earlier.

Its 100% this and has been since Toyota sponsored evo back in 2006 or 2007, I canāt remember which. Toyota wanted Evo run a Racing game tournament. Evo didnāt want to. So they compromised and settled on Mario Kart
Oh, I would reckon he pretty much hates MvC 2. Hell, the fact that he threw Infinite under the bus so quickly pretty much confirms his disdain for anything Marvel. I dunno if he got bullied a lot while trying to GIT GUD at the game back in the day, but I just cannot conceive him dumping the ādefinitiveā DC version over a glitched port like the ones for PS3/360 so quickly (remember that one-frame AHVB glitch?).
Hell, he didnāt even bother putting MvC 2 back in the EVO lineup even AFTER those versions were released so I really donāt know where youāre getting at?
At this point I donāt even know if Mr. Wiz even has any notion of what a good fighting game even entails, I guess if you throw enough money at him, heāll just put that game in the lineup and fuck it

There were a lot of new games in the spot light. 3s and ST werenāt main games anymore either. Evo got big during those years with the FG revival, but itās not as big as it is now with 8-9 main games. Nobody wanted Infinite at Evo except Infinite players. That game is hideous. MVC3 was in the lineup for a long time.
As soon as Smash was added to the linup, you knew it was all about the money.
