Where are you hearing this? I’ve seen nothing but good reviews about the game, especially from fighting game players.
Couple of backers and speed runners. After a certain point game tanks. Turns into a bunch of back tracking and fights are just mashing with highest dps, no strategy.
That comes from being an exploration game
It plays alot like Valkyrie Profile
What?
There’s no strategy to fights after a certain point. You can just mash whatever and things die.
Seems like it needed to cook more before dropping. I’ll be waiting for some patches/fixes.
yeah this game is entirely too awesome; here’s a review I found for the Switch version
Removing battle.net from my computer…I’ll reconsider when they get their shit together and show some sort of compromise to their community.
Im not surprised at all the RE5 and RE6 are just bad ports, switch as gotten really bad ports before like Bloodstained and the dragon quest games 1,2,3 which are all bad ports. Then again theres really nothing that great about RE5, and most people hate RE6.
Streaming is eventually going to take over the gaming industry like it did the music and movie industries. You may not like it, but it’s going to happen. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Hard disagree. Streaming works with music and movies because they are not interactive. Even the filthiest of casuals won’t tolerate lag in the smallest of instance. Games that are popular within the mainstream won’t be kind to it. Make those games downloadable and then this has a chance. Straight streaming is destined for failure.
While I don’t disagree I think it will take a lot longer than it has with Music and arguably video.
a lot of people, and I mean a lot of people still prefer physical over digital when it comes to movie/tv/video games.
If there wasn’t they still wouldn’t be producing DVD’s. And I mean actual DVD’s no Blu-Ray or 4KHD.
Digital sales has been outpacing physical as of late. It’s at a point were physical releases will likely be niche by next generation.
yep, I will only stop buying blu-rays and dvds the day it becomes impossible to find them anywhere anymore. I don’t like the very concept of having to rely on the internet connection and a server AND a service continuing to host the content to enjoy the goddamn content… for a quick example that I’ve probably said before—I have the entire Nightmare on Elm Street movie series dvd collection. If New Line Cinema and various streaming services were to suddenly crash and burn tomorrow, I can still watch those movies whenever I damn well please. Their continued existence means nothing to my continued enjoyment of those films, and that’s the way it should always be. The same deal applies to the various other things I have collected on blu-ray and dvd, naturally…even hilariously bad shit like Leonard, part 6 (found that dvd at Target a few months ago; snatched it up immediately) Vampire Diaries is another one—I have been re-watching the series yet again; if Netflix decides to drop it today… it makes no difference; I just continue on with my blu-rays and dvds then.
Didn’t Sony or EA patent something where they would be able to let advertisers run commercials during games?
I know they do it with mobile if you it’s not paid for, and that’s the dumbest fucking dumb shit thing to happen to games. It happens with the steaming services for other media, so I could see it happening here. I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens to console games.
Actually I think the recent NBA 2K does it?
I could see streaming services becoming ‘lag-free’ at some point, but seeing as how publishers have changed digitally owned games due to various reasons, I won’t jump on board.
Here’s the thing though, convenience ALWAYS trumps quality. If it didn’t, Beta would have won the VCR wars, people would all still be listening to vinyl rather than mp3s or 128kbps streams, and fast food wouldn’t be as widespread as it is. Being able to game right from your smartphone, with a controller attached, or even plug said phone into a monitor and play will eventually win out over consoles for all but the most hardcore of people.
We live in a time where lag is intentionally built into games to mitigate the online experience, and when screaming fast connections become the norm here like they are in other countries, the lag will be minimal.
Streaming will also mean revenue for companies for whom some of their games are out of print. The days of having to buy crummy ports of old games you already own but want to play on your current console will be over, and It’ll kill rom sites and the second hand market (ymmv as to whether those are good or bad things.)
Yes there will always be people who play on console, but much like stuff like solar energy, the streaming experience is only going to improve. Remote play between a PS4 and a Vita is already pretty good and a Vita is a fairly underpowered device with a weak wifi antenna, but it’s pretty good for what it is. People who play physical copies will be people who listen to vinyl (I do ftr), they’ll always exist but they’ll be more of a niche market. There’s room for both though.
What’s bad about them? I’ve been hearing nothing but good.
Unless PSN dies off, they have records of everything I bought and I can download it whenever I want. I used to prefer physical and i own a few physical copies this gen, but I started going more digital in part because it’s more convenient on my Vita to not have to carry a bunch of carts around with me, and on PS4 so if I want to remote play something, I don’t have to worry about whether or not I have the disc in.
Convenience is debatable when it comes to video game streaming. You’ll be reliant on servers to stay up, the hardware your running being up to task and hoping the stream itself doesn’t run like shit. A convenience won’t be good if I get a slideshow or things don’t work the way they’re suppose to. Remember Onlive?
Square used the mobile ports for the Switch version. I don’t touch mobile so I don’t know what’s bad about them.
