Letâs not pretend that XB1/PS4 online hack fuckery is anywhere near the same league as PC.
Majority of people on console havenât played with a hacker this gen. Iâm sure the first time you fire up a PC game online, fuckery abound before youâre done with the session.
The argument that current gen console online is as bad as PC, is just as bad as the recent argument that a $500 PC is a viable alternative to an XBOX 1X.

You were hella wrong. Current gen hacking is going strong. Also Iâve never run into a hacker playing Tekken on PC. So youâre wrong on that front as well.

Hmm, how to explain? It is mostly useless, but you can use the platinum points on certain gifts via logging in on my.nintendo.com, mostly stuff like mobile wall paper and bonus gifts if you play on their mobile games. The Gold ironically is where the worth is, but you only get those when you buy a game

Steam also has of Anti-cheat measures, they will ban accounts.
Although Valve decide to troll cheaters on Team Fortress 2 by giving all the Non-cheaters gear that is exclusive to just the non-cheaters, and they made the gear non-tradable in a game where people would try to cheat to farm for loot.
The only PC game I played online that I ran into hackers is Dark Souls. I would alt+F4 whenever someone invaded me so most never got to me. It was a lot worse with the original release of the first game as it used GFWL. GFWL was infamous for itâs garbage security among other things.

Gotta agree with Rude on this one. I havenât run into any hackers on PS4, and even if you CAN hack, theyre probably fewer and far between because sony has a vested interest in keeping things clean as everyoneâs paying. I used to think charging for online was ludicrous, but now that Iâve experienced it, itâs like going to a club that charges a buck or two extra for drinks in order to keep the riff raff out. Some still get in but much fewer than youâd normally see.
Yes people can still hack leaderboards, but who cares, everyone knows theyâre cheaters and just move it along. A walled garden makes it harder for anybody to hack, but in less regulated ecosystems where hacking happens more often, Itâs harder to know in a game like Dark Souls which has crappy online anyway whether someone is one-shotting you because theyâre hacking or because they have a really great build. And that sucks.
