Video Game General 6.5: Now with more surprise mechanics

Microsoft kept Minecraft multi-platform because of contractual obligations. Sony doesn’t have that hurdle with MLB.

It’s still blowing my mind that this is even happening. Minecraft is one thing since there were contractual obligations in place before M$ came in, this is something else entirely. Sony didn’t have an exclusive deal going with MLB like EA did with NFL, anybody could make MLB gamea they just would never be anything close to The Show’s quality so Sony had to have had a ton of leverage in this deal for MLB (cause I KNOW Sony didn’t bring it up) to present this tto them.

Last generation was all about crazy collabs and now we’re about to truly enter a time where the possibility of the big 3 working together and even putting stuff on competitors consoles is a reality.

They’re slowly realizing a game being on more platforms means more money for everybody.

Halo Master Queef Collection is on Steam now. I bet it’s going to print money, and I’d also bet the lifetime sales on Steam will beat out whatever sales it had on Xbone, but I believe that’s because the Steam install base is WAY bigger than Xbones.

Imagine how much money a multi plat Pokemanz or Mario title would sell. They’d probably reach GTAV level of lifetime sales. It would be insane.

Sony already announced that they will bring some of their exclussives to other platforms (mostly PC) in the future.
Which ones? Who knows.

That makes alot of sense. Ether give us a free pass to download and install the game for having the cart in place, or let us dump the whole cart into the SD card.

It depends what the agreement’s are and how they are worded. If Sony underwrote FF7R like they did SFV, then it’s good as a exclusive to PlayStation till Sony gives the release (which is never).

Not Really, The PS1 Era FF games going to Xbox aren’t ports of the PS1 games. There a bit of Sony only code there, it be more likely based on the PC releases, which especially for FF7 are technically not the same game as their PS1 counterparts.

Nope.

So PC then. MLB is very exacting who gets to do what with their IP.

That is a different thing entirely, Minecraft’s Studio Mojang AB made sure to sign a bunch of contracts with Sony, Nintendo and others before MS bought the studio, MS inherited all the contracts and has to honor them. Notch wanted to keep Minecraft Multiplat as much as possible.

They kinda did, Sports leagues guard their Ip more jealous than Disney. That is why those broadcasts rights for sporting events are worth billions. In EA’s case it’s 3 separate licenses they have to maintain to keep on making Madden, The NLF, The NLF player’s Association and to John Madden (for use of his name).

Including Resistance with RE3 was clever as fuck. You essentially get a multiplayer game that compliments the main story of RE3 (which prolly won’t be all that long by itself)

Wouldve been a risk releasing Resistance by itself, but now it can be seen as a bonus. And if it happens to be good, another selling point for ppl who otherwise might not play an RE title

I thought that was Tomb Raider for a second lol

RE2 Remake Claire looks like Emilia Clarke can’t decide between a Aerith Gainsborough and a Lara Croft cosplay and is failing, and her makeup artist understood Jennifer Lawrence makeup.

Jill looks like they modeled her face of a real person.

I don’t like the new outfit. I’m preordering for classic Jill.
