Not only that, the Raytracing we have isn’t that extensive. The current RTX lineup is basically an expensive Raytracing beta test. The reason my GTX 1080 has held up so well is because Turing’s rasterization performance was only marginally better than Pascal. I honestly wonder if the rasterazation boost has more to do with the improved memory bandwidth than anything else. Turing seems like Volta with RT cores added to it.

Ray tracing is supposedly the next big thing, and once the PS5 releases with Ray tracing out of the box it’ll definitely show up in more titles. GPU side of things don’t seem that interesting right now, I hear nvidia keeps re-releasing the 1080 because AMD isn’t giving them competition on that front.
In a year or two it’ll most likely be worth investing in a new GPU. CPU wise you guys know as much as I do that we have fucking commercial supercomputers with the amount of cores and clock speed we have now.
For reference my Pc back in 99 had a single core amd Athlon cpu clocked at 3.0 ghz, with 1gb of ddr1 or 2 ram and a 64 Meg geforce 2 mx. Yeah. Crazy how far we’ve come, but I hear cpus are kind of tapering off when it comes to clock speed so all they can do now is add more cores.

Nah mang, that was a dumb call, simply because the war against the gods was FAR from over, and Gaia would have pretty much needed Kratos to help fulfill her agenda until the very end, not just dump Kratos at the very first sight of adversity. Like I said, the timing of the turn was really off, and the Titans should have waited for the gods to be wiped out instead of having to fight against the gods AND a pissed off Kratos?
Did a Google search on Nicalis and it brought up all the things you guys said. While that stuff does indeed make them a crap company, I’m not gonna skip Ikaruga physical due to that.
I thought Kratos was an unlikable asshole…like in a bad way. He’s not fun to be imo. He consistantly does shit that makes everything worse for eveyone, including himself and he never ever fucking learns. After a while i get tired of watching an idiot never fucking learn. It’s annoying.
I’ve only been through the first 3 tho. I played the first two and watched my brother play the 3rd one. Maybe shit changes in some of others. I know he’s obviously a pretty different person in the New one.
Story aside GOW3 gameplays is dumbdown and simplistic I was hoping for it to be a combination of the first two games but no they thought they could sell copies with the graphics and gore alone which they did anyway. After 3 I was done
You will enjoy the new game. Kratos realizes this about himself and drives his character arc.

I enjoyed GOW 3 when I played last year. The game is hilarious because of everything is in pain, lol. SSM just ran with it haha.
Horizon and God of War being $10 is good shit during the BB BF sale. Those are on my list of games to play. Shenmue 3 is $35, Days Gone $20. Maybe GCU stacks? VR deals look nice too. The entire Uncharted series for $20 seems like something that might be tempting.
Might grab Ikaruga digital on PS4 since the money goes directly to Treasure, gonna pass on the physical. Already own it multiple times.

I’m saying Gaia didn’t purposefully try to fling him off, she just didn’t try to save him when he was losing his grip because she was more concerned with not falling herself. I get Kratos being upset at Gaia for not trying despite the situation but he decided that EVERYONE was an enemy at that point. From her point of view if she had tried to prevent him from falling while catching bolts to the face then they both would have fell.
Considering that Kratos had litterally fought his way out of hell twice before this occured this was inevitable going to end up as a lose lose for her.

Highly reccommend giving GoW 2018 a spin whenever you get a chance. Kratos has had years to mellow out since 3 and reflect on himself like Hawkingbird says. He’s still Kratos and still has his rage but it’s endearing watching him try to keep himself subdued for the sake of his kid throughout the game.

This guy made the new God of War look like shit.
-no jumping
-turd person shooter camera making it so you can’t see anything to your back and side, to a point where they have to put arrow indicators for when you’re about to get hit by an attack. Yeah.
-DmC style color coded enemies
Seems like they made a lot of compromises to the gameplay for dat story. I’d still like to try the game out, but these things combined with the open world just made me not really interested. It looks way, way slower than the older titles too.

I’m fine with slower. Speed never really helped this series imo. I also love 3rd person cameras that are close like that so it works for me. Some kind of God Hand or Zone of the Enders Radar would have been nicer then the colored arrows tho.

You don’t babysit Atreus really. He is actually a nice edition to combat. It kinda works like Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us where Atreus is not really in the way of anything. He’ll get caught every so often but not a horrible nuisance like a long escort mission. I really implore you to reconsider if that is your only hangup.
