I feel like Devil May Cry 5 needs a Special Edition with Vergil, Lady, and Trish to be up there. A DMC 3 outfit for Dante would also be appreciated.
However, this year feels pretty barren. Out of all the games to come out this year the only one that I am going to play in any capacity in the future is Dead or Alive 6. If Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled was available on Steam I am sure it would be a contender for me too though. Sadly have not had a chance to play it yet.

just checked my playtimes on Switch… I’m already up to 170 hours on the Switch version of Diablo 3… (definitely making a Crusader for the upcoming season; they’re actually awesome now thanks to the new set)… and 20 hours on Cuphead (oddly enough I beat that one before finishing the XB1 version)… only 2 hours on Vampyr so far…
I highly doubt Death Stranding will win GotY because of the way the awards work. I’d call shenanigans if it did. I’m fine with the nomination but I don’t think it should win.
…this isn’t quite the same thing though. Overwatch blew up critically when it first came out and wasn’t anywhere near as divisive as DS is. I fully expect it to get some awards but considering the fact that the way awards are given out its a combination of what the powers that be (the selection of publications/businesses that selected the games in the first place) and the public vote…If DS wins its going to be HIGHLY suspect.
Looking through the nominees and DMC V and Astral Chain are only nominates once and don’t even have a hat in the GOTY fight…that’s pretty disappointing.
I’m predicting that Control is going to get robbed this year. I’m pretty sure that game deserves some awards but I’ll be surprised if it gets any.
Yea I’m still on the fence on picking it up now or on Black Friday. Might just rush through Shenmue 1 & 2 to get refreshed and to pass the time till Black Friday. I want it pretty badly tho…been waiting almost 20 years for part 3.
