This guy inspired me to go back to some titles I dropped 1/2 way through.
^ I went back to The Order after watching that video. I continued my save which was like 2/3rd’s of the way through game, a save from like 2015 or 2016. The pacing is as terrible at it ever was, but the story, gunplay and graphics are still pretty damn good. Nothing like taking a shotgun from the 1800’s and using it to BLOW OFF A DUDES ENTIRE LEG, GODDAMN! Also, werewolves and vampires.
^ This video also made me want to go back to Neverdead. I liked what I played of the game, I just got distracted and ending up playing other titles. This was one of the last original games Konami put out before they…turned into whatever they are, and that reason coupled with the fact it was like 20 bucks new at Best Buy at the time made me pick it up.
You can lop off your own head, throw it into a vent followed by using your severed head to solve puzzles. Yeah. Boss fights might need you to do some similar shenanigans too.
I always wanted to try Order 1886. I just heard it was frustratingly short. I remember a friend said he beat it in under 5hrs, I believe. No kind of QoL updates or DLC to speak of in addition to what you mentioned; horrible pacing but had a lot of good qualities and a shit ton of potential.
I borrowed NeverDead from a friend. Very silly and a lot of cool ideas. I don’t think I ever finished it, however. I can’t remember why either.
Personally my favorite scene is when Randolph is talking to Sheldon in the suite while making all the puns about the ways Nora had sex with all the kids television hosts before Sheldon.
Duuude… I fucking LOVE Blow. But to say it’s far more entertaining than Goodfellas? Not even. I’d put them pretty close together as far as entertainment value. And I’d throw Casino up in that mix as well. They’re all dope as fuck.
I prefer the scene in Death To Smoochie where Rainbow Randall seeks to set himself on fire in the middle of Times Square, but is stopped by a cute little girl. However, when Smoochie is sighted the entire crowd including the little girl turns their attention to Smoochie much to Rainbow Randal’s dismay.
P.S. Blow had a more grandiose plot with more impressive cinematography and a much more dramatic fall from grace. The performances of the supporting cast were also more enticing than those in Goodfellas. It’s biggest shortcoming is its excessive embellishment.
I was sure to italicize it to indicate a title, something I’ll usually be lax on for internet grammar. But as I was typing it, I had the same thought you did, and decided to italicize. With a chuckle.
While i am sure there are4 many here that do that, i usually provide my points on why i think something is poorly done.
I know you are saying this because the people who have pointed out why TLJ is a terrible movie, btw.
But if you have followed the discussion on DS, so far, most of the people who has said that the game is “bad” usually downplay the elements of the game to suit their stance on why the game is bad, when in reality is that they dont like it, or worse, just go with what they saw someone post on reddit or said on an yt video, while ignoring everything that proves them wrong.
Not necessarily. It’s a response to how most things work out when it comes to popular media.
Something could look completely against your sensibilities and be great (e.g., Beyond Good and Evil). I will say that with the amount of playthrough videos online you can form a pretty solid impression of a game without necessarily playing it. I did not consider Death Stranding for purchase because of this. Traversing the landscape is not as interesting as Force Pushing a Stormtrooper into Oblivion. It’s also a very cryptic marketing campaign. I need a little more substance before I commit.
Kengo II is the pinnacle of weapon based combat in video games. Only catch is that its depth exceeds its breadth (only Japanese swords). Though Kengo III increases the breadth at the cost of depth the price is too steep for my liking.
