Cool to see Megamans popularity coming back. Really hope Capcom doesnāt squander it again.
@chadouken Yo I just remembered, a perfect example of why I would never want the side content from RDR removed, was playing RDR2 a couple weeks ago and stumbled upon some Klansmen trying to errect a wooden cross to burn. I rode up behind them and started loading up. Shotgun for him, revolver for him, but before I could start shooting they fucked up and dropped the cross on themselves killing two of them. The 3rd one started yelling at them and somehow lit himself on fire and ran off into the woods screaming.
I laughed for 5 minutes straight man.
sheeeeitttt, Gears 5, manā¦ itās a love-hate thing that just keeps on going for meā¦
They fucked up with the ādouble starsā this weekend apparently, but I didnāt even really mind; I just wanted to get some more game-time inā¦ played more Horde sessions as Fahz for the first time in quite a while; I have him leveled to 10 at the momentā¦ I realize now that yeah, the Embar is indeed better than the Longshot, imo. On the active reload you can shoot Embar at least twice before reloadingā¦I always hated that about Longshotā¦that itās 1 shot then reload, 1 more shot, reload, etcā¦fuuuuuck that.
I finally put in some time leveling up Sarah Connor as well; she gets a skill that grants extra grenades, and another one that boosts shotgun damageā¦thatās going to be a fun one to build up. Itās a shame they didnāt put an āArnoldā T-800 skin in the game since they were adding Terminator material hereā¦ I think thatās what more Terminator fans wouldāve wanted instead of just the T800 endoskeleton.
oh and Iād love to see exactly how much of a flop the other 2 characters were; Iād bet only a small percentage of fans bought Grace and REV9. REV just looks like a darker T800 with an oddly deformed head, and I doubt anyone likes Grace (that āenhanced humanā that looks kinda like a tall MacCauly Culkin). There has not been even 1 occasion where Iāve noticed someone playing as āGraceāā¦not even once
A Style of Dinner.
Itās a game about traversal. All the mechanics are in figure out how to get to a place and getting there. Keeping your balance, picking good routes. Using tools to make your job easier. There is some stealth and some combat and it works pretty well but it isnāt the focus. Itās a lot of fun so far because the traversal isnāt mindless. Itās easier early on but thereās tougher terrain later on, and if you have fragile cargo that means you gotta be careful.
I mean, it may not sound fun to some people but it is mechanically interesting.
Itās like a reimagined realistic-style platformer almost. The story isnāt the only reason Iāve put over 35 hours in it so far
Yeah, they really thought about the main mechanics a lot because youāre basically always interacting with something, thinking about where to step and what to avoid, thinking about how to speed it up using tools, etc.
The only time it starts to get routine is after youāve made enough roads to make it easier, and then you have vehicles by that point so you really shorten times a lot. And taking the time to build those roads to be rewarded with more effecient travel and the game telling you other players are using the roads you made feels awesome
You donāt mash triggers at all wtf? You just hold the opposite side that youāre falling towards.
Man I knew I should have stayed away from this thread. People judging shit based on misinformation and misunderstandings.
The game DOES have compelling gameplay. Yeah it wonāt appeal to everyone but it isnāt braindead.
Yeah the combat isnāt that hard but it literally is NOT the main system in the game even. Hell you can still slip and fall when aiming and fighting because the main focus is still on traversal. Thereās even an option of how much to prioritize balancing yourself vs aiming.
Like the combat definitely wasnāt an after thought, but itās way more like a strategy game instead of a twitch shooter. Itās not about getting sick head shots itās about picking the best tools for the job to get through quickly and safely.
Managing your total weight, thinking and planning about what tools or weapons to bring based on route, micromanaging balance vs speed, etc. is all engaging. Of course not everyone is going to find that interesting, but the game is good
Can you shoot zombies with a crossbow?
Those people ājust donāt get itā right?
Yeah. People that have different opinions are annoying.
Is not about having different opinions, but being disingenuous by downplaying elements of the game to serve their stance of the game being just a walking simulator or a movie with scarce gameplay elements.
Being misinformed on purpose and trying to shield the stupidity behind āis my opinion, hurr durrā is idiotic, opinions are not imune to criticism, specially when they come from ignorance and flawed arguments that can be disaproved easily.
Plus, this is a forum, its sole purpose is to have discussions and arguments.
So Konami has been the good guy all this time?
Capcom should just dump funds into MMX: Corrupted and finally help dude release that shit. Fans would eat it up, its looks so good you canāt tell itās a fangame
No.
DS is awesome.
But is not for everyone.
Sadly those who dont like it seem to be taking it personal that the game is not catered to their tastes and are making ass of themselves by posting idiotic stuff.
Well what the fuck else am I supposed to say Stuart? I legitimately like the gameplay. I even explained the reasons why and reiterated on them.
I donāt believe itās even a bad game that I like, itās a good game that I like. There are other bad games that I like despite the issues. DS doesnāt have issues like that. It is well designed, well thought out, is interesting to me and some other people. And itās not because itās Kojima. I find the excessive amount of self credits a little annoying too. I have only legitimately loved ZOE2 by him. I mechanically loved MGV but the story and totally unfinished nature were a huge turn off. I didnāt really like 3 or 4 and ājustā liked 2. So this isnāt about stanning either.
At a certain point, what else is there to say but it just isnāt made for some people. People are all fucking different. Isnāt it fucking natural that sometimes someone just wonāt like a thing?
It has nothing to do with the quality of the thing
As it is now, i think that DS situation is comparable to a progressive music album.
Those who like it appreciate what it offers.
Those who dislike dismiss it as pretentious bullshit, be because tall poppy syndrome, or something similar, lol.
perhaps kojima needed konami to tell him no to certain bad ideas.
like for example.
spoiler
him carrying his dead mom for a good 15 minutes on his backā¦what human being does this? just put her in a all terrain vehicle and transport her there. thats what any human being would do. putting a dead body on your back, especially like a bookbag instead of over the shoulder, then climbing mountains. but whyyyy? couldnt he just put her on that atv seen at the start of the game and do the same shit? it makes me wonder why no one told himā¦āhet, that doesnt make sense dudeā
kojima cant seem to be unchained without any naysayers around him. cuz it seems the gameās biggest issue is its the meat with the fat uncut.
just imo
Dude. They literally fucking explain in the game that they canāt take any vehicles up there because the vehicle route was JUST destroyed. That bike he was on was JUST destroyed.
it looks like a atv would work there. no road really necessary there. and it sorta just a bad idea to do that without a atv. and tbh, just scap the idea entirely if the player is gonna feel silly doing something no one would ever do.
and they must have more vehicles at that facility. i would hope so.
