Video Game General 6.5: Now with more surprise mechanics

If that where the case you wouldn’t be calling Kojima a hack. You’d just accept his new game isn’t for you.

I haven’t called him a hack today lol. He just makes different shit and I’d like him to go make a movie already.

I don’t even consider his stuff bad. :man_shrugging:t4:

Today…

What’s your point here?

Different strokes. When a game can mostly play itself with very little challenge or failure and is more focused of the story… that’s just an interactive story.

The game has challenge. It just not where you want the challenge to be.

I guess all the reviews saying it’s too easy couldn’t find the challenge. :man_shrugging:t4:

How do we know if there is or isn’t challange?

We trust reviewers for this sort of thing all of a sudden? The guys who are always on deadlines and rush through content missing most of what’s on offer and rarely trying harder difficulty settings if they are there cuz they don’t have the time?

Really?

I read what you post, but once again, you are going on hyperboles and downplaying elements on the game to suit your very flawed description of the game.
Just admit that is not for you and leave it at that.
Once you start going on a tangent posting easily disaprovable shit just makes you look like an idiot.

I see reviewers say that about the combat. Combat having no challenge isn’t a big deal since it’s not the focus of the game. There seems to be a steep learning curve for just about everything else.

For these type of things I do. Reviews say game is hard like Sekiro or Nioh, they aren’t. Just mild challenge at times. When reviews say a game very easy though, they’re pretty much right.

Kingdom Hearts III had an overwhelming amount of reviews (just like DS now) saying it was too easy. Welp ignored that and game constantly tried to put me to sleep. It had no difficulty whatsoever.

I don’t follow reviews like gospel, but I do take special notice when difficulty/challenge are called into question.

So they just added Kerrigan to D4 then.

HELL yeah… that Druid transformed and I had to run the video back to see it again…ohhhh YES that is absolutely my starting character right there along with Mage as usual. I wish the Necromancer was coming back; I’ll bet that’s a contender for a later “extra” class once again in the inevitable expansion/dlc thing…then I’d have my “kinda vampire” character AND my werewolf/werebear dude all in one game!

yeah, “account bound” is some stupid bullshit…I don’t get why that has ever been a thing… fuck that. It’s one of the many reasons the console version was superior, btw… back when you could barely trade anything on PC… console D3 let us give damn near anything to a friend. The only thing I recall is if you have enchanted an item, then your friend can’t get that.

sheeeeit, now I’m in the mood for some Diablo again, watching this greatness… that trailer was EXACTLY what I was waiting on today.

*oh – one gripe here—I really hope they aren’t doing that annoying “gender locked classes” bullshit in this. It really irks me that most companies tend to do that…and it just seems lazy to me… D3 had it right—as a wizard you could decide if your character is male or female…it should always be like that in this sort of game, imo.

I already said that game ain’t for me, and have no problem with Kojima putting out something that doesn’t appeal to me.

Getting a tad tiring with you and this brain damage idiot thing cause I have a different opinion than you. Go fuck your self homie. :+1:t5:

Then dont post dumb shit homie.
Is that simple, LMAO.

What I said was dumb to you. Clearly I’m not the only one thinking the lack of difficulty is an issue and basically an interactive story.

But whatevs dude, we disagree on what makes a game a game.

Love 2nd Runner, but iirc, he is only the producer, and not involved in the story and gameplay.
I still have my ps2 copy there (with zoe1)

Started Dragon Quest III and I did not expect this game to start out the way it did. I’m getting asked all kinds of questions and tossed in different scenarios. Annnnd I can’t name my character Erdrick for what I’m guessing are story reasons so I went with ARUSU. And I get to pick my own party classes/members?! If I don’t like them, I can ditch 'em? Freaking Sweet!
