Next-gen Dragon’s Dogma with a big budget running on a new or upgraded RE engine would be an 11/10 game.
There’s so much potential there. The game still has some of the most fun, most off the wall abilities I’ve used in any RPG to this day.
I almost always play melee classes in ARPG’s exclusively, but games like DD, PoE and Diablo inspire me to make casters and bowhoe ranged classes because they end up feeling powerful and fun as hell to play too.
I just went to the Metacritic site, and so the user reviews. The posts I saw were all in Spanish and saying the same thing, but with different user names.
Didn’t know about the Astral Chain and Hideki Kamiya twitter exchange, lol.
Same thing happened with Scalebound when that was first announced as well. Time flies…
Dragon’s Dogma is another Switch purchase I have on my list.
yeah, the magic especially was how it should be, imo. I went on and on about Skyrim…but it always felt like a huge step down when it came to the magic abilities and how they looked, in comparison to Dragon’s Dogma especially. (*the sad thing is that it’s safe to say this won’t change when Elder Scrolls VI is out…even though that’s still about 84 years away…the magic will STILL look terrible compared to anything else on the market.)
sheeeiiiitttt, I still remember the first time I fought that griffin… I think that’s what it was…and I was holding on to the creature and he took off…it actually flew around with me still holding on and hitting him, as others on ground level were lighting him up with arrows…eventually he and I crashed back down and the battle continued there…I had never experienced that in a game before; it was an awesome moment.
More Diablo 3 a little while ago… paragon level 53 now…still only 1 piece of Vyr’s though… and “upgrade rare” in Kannai Cube takes a while since it requires “death breaths”, and the game is a bit stingy on that resource.
…I also did a run of Gears 4 Horde again today; went to 50 with some randoms on that stage that looks like a farm… ha, it was only 3 of us most of the way thru since the other 2 dudes quit (of course)…I’m going to miss this shit, man… with part 5 just days away now; I’m sure the online population for this will drastically decline once the new hotness is available.
If Dragon’s Dogma 2 and the next Monster Hunter came out on the same day I would actually not know what to do. My hype would absolutely leave me a mess lol
The current “league” AKA expack in Path of Exile ended today, and all of the FUCKING AMAZING loot I was able to get has moved over to “standard” where the rest of my FUCKING AMAZING gear is, most of which I’ve been putting together slowly over the past year. Sick items in each item slot, some exclusive to their respective league.
My Juggernaut/Berserker is my best character and is an absolute monster, and with a few upgrades he’s gotten that much better. Hypest thing I got was this nigh-perfect armor with a craft that allows it so enemies can have an additional curse. I have gloves that give me a Despair on Hit(enemies have added chaos damage to them and -chaos resistance) curse, and a ring that gives me Assassin’s Mark on hit(enemies are easier to crit, take more damage from crits, and you get Power Charges after killing cursed enemies.)
Typically you need to sit there and cast a curse in like 99% of action RPG’s that have them, but in PoE you have multiple ways to apply a curse. With those items every single hit from my attacks applies 2 curses. If enemies survive the first hit, they get nuked by the 2nd. Bosses and all “end-game” content are getting destroyed.

Maybe. Imo they haven’t shown off enough to warrant people’s wanting to get it. Almost everything they’ve showed off in SW/SH has gotten massive, massive push back from the Pokémon fan base.
40 minutes is a good amount of time to get through a lot of the 2019 Switch lineup. Maybe we’ll get one more Pokemon Direct closer to the game’s launch?
I think Dragon’s Dogma was behind the times outside of a few elaborate gameplay options. The presentation was horrid, there was hardly any story worth following, and worst of all the world was unengaging, bland and large.
I am happy that Devil May Cry V reaped the benefits of its minimal accomplishments though.
