Except the CV collection was only ever meant to be a collection. RE4, 5 and 6 are separate releases on Switch. The Triple Pack is just a bundle with them together.
āItās a triple pack not a collection.ā
Listen to yourself.
13 Sentinels stream:
At around 3:49:00 they start showing some of the battle gameplay.
My thoughts:
Wow the animations are amaaaazing
Hmm itās strange though, they show sample 2D animations when selecting attacks but it doesnāt seem to show an animation when you actually execute the action.
It almost plays out like watching a 3d radar from a base or something
They put a lot of work into animating the map itself.
Seems like itās real time except while selecting actions?
Shit this is really cool honestly. The attack effects and radar animations are super cool lol
They really got that anime mecha feel with tons and TONs of popcorn enemies that you can blast away with massive missile barrages or lasers n shit.
Thereās abilities units that can shield other units.
Ah, the base itself has special commands like an EMP wave.
Damn, Iām mega sold
Because they never did say they were selling a collection of three RE games in the same way Konami did the CV collection. All they actually announced was RE 5 and 6 coming out, and then stating there was a bundle to get those two, alongside RE4.
As for a launcher, CV collection is basically just a bunch of ROMs and the launcher an emulator. This is different in that these are actual ports. Having them under one executable would require recoding them all as one executable. Pretty sure a game on any console isnāt allowed to call up any other game/application/executable (aside from the store and browser) because that just opens up a whole 'nother can of security worms. Thatās on top of, if they did go this route, having to maintain that build (the ācollectionā) separately on top of maintaining the individual releases - any patches or fixes will now need to be applied separately, and likely require separate approvals, for each.
Now if they had originally just announced a collection with all three games, then maybe Iād be singing a different tune
At the beginning of this generation it was all āmah Playstation can do 1080p and your Suckbox only 900p, hurrdurrā and here we are with Switch outselling the rest.
Maybe, at some point, a few months before the apocalypse, people will understand that the games are the important part form the get-go.
A quick moment to laugh at Fallout 76 againā¦itās been a while:
it surprises me that thereās still people who are even bothering to waste any time with this game at this point. Thereās 2 people on my friend list that actually have this shit for some reasonā¦at least for one of them it makes sense because heās always had bad/questionable taste.
I was just mentioning to someone the other day that this kind of shit is the reason Iāve actually given up all hope on the future of the Elder Scrolls franchise. I had my fun with Skyrim and a little ESO at least, but that will be the end of it. Itās a foregone conclusion that TES VI will be another shitshow as usual. Theyāre terrible but have always gotten a pass somehowā¦until now, with the gaming audience finally drawing a line in the sand; no longer tolerating substandard, half-ass trash.
But dont forget the Xbox has no games.
PS4 has more actual exclusives and not just ātimedā exclusives both from in house and 3rd party publishers.
Switch sells as it fills a niche that regular consoles canāt, out performs anything mobile, have a killer library at launch and has good marketing.
I think the Switch sells on the portability. It gives it more utility than itās competition.
I always buy systems based on their game library. Thatās the only thing thatās important to me. I donāt really care what specs are for a system. I donāt care about online stability. I donāt care if the online player base for x y and z games are better on one system or another. I donāt care if all my friends have a certain system. If it has the games/exclusives I want than Iāll get it. I usually wait until there are 5 or more titles I really want to play before I invest into a new system.
The only exception has been the Switch. I bought a switch at launch because their presentation was so fucking good. They showed so much more than a usual new console reveal. It was hard to deny the allure and potential of the Switch. I donāt regret buying it at launch either. There are a few games I regret buying but over all Iāve been super happy. Iāve bought more games for my Switch in the 2 1/2 years its been out than the PS4 which has been out for 6 and Iāve had for 5.
I have more games for the PS4 but like 90+% of them are from PS+ so I donāt particularly count those.
I think the reason Switch succeeds is simply because it is officially considered a āgoodā platform by both media and consumers alike. People always flock to the cool kid, hence why WiiU never took off (despite 2014 being a killer year in terms of software) and why Xbox One never recovered from its pre-launch disaster.
I think the straight up strong features (portability, game library) are good to give a console some momentum early on by the gamer crowd but as soon as a system starts moving into the casual consumer business itās all about word of mouth.
Itās almost like PS4 and XB1 launched almost 6 years ago or something
Iām on my way to Defend the North, my first major. These old dudes about to get wrecked in Super Turbo.

Itās like you donāt know what pack and collection mean.
If it only has one game on the cart then it isnāt a pack. Its a single game with two digital codes. Thatās not a pack.
You seriously have to stop.
