I’m personally waiting for the inevitable next iteration of VR for the PS5 before jumping in.
Yeah logistics can be a pain in the ass for sure. But PSVR has made it very easy with minimal wiring needed (compared to PC). And since there are so many PS4’s out there, most people that are interested in it already have the main piece of hardware needed for it.
Lol, doesn’t your 100-inch projection and 5.2 surround get you close to VR anyway?
LOL. It’s not even close to the same experience.
And it’s 120 inches
That’s so bad ass.
Yeah I mean the thing that can’t be explained at all and has to be experienced with VR is just the whole 3D/depth thing. You can’t explain and really comprehend what it is like to be playing a game in physical space like that. And videos simply can’t convey the feeling.
And jesus christ I wish there was another Resident Evil in VR. RE7 is the most badass and terrifying and shit inducing game I have ever played.
I agree, VR is a different experience all together
VR isn’t the kind of thing you can judge without having experienced it. It really is that different. Granted, it’s not exactly easy to get a chance to experience it, true. I have only experienced it because of a friend that owned one.
It’s deffinitly a different experience that is hard to explain.
There just aren’t any experiences for it yet that I really care enough about to spend 250 bucks on just for the hardware to play, not to mention buying the game/s themselves. Looking at a 300 dollar investment, there has to be something there to interest me first to spend that kind of money.
Yeah, I can agree there’s not a lot I like “must-have” for VR so I’m not exactly rushing to get it either, but I definitely don’t think it’s just a fad like 3d was
I can think of at least 6 or 7 “must haves” on PSVR alone, let alone not even considering PC.

This. I mean, I already said this. But apparently I’m wrong.
When a system or add-on has 600+ titles but the amount of the ones I want to play I can count on hand. That’s not a sound investment to me.
Same reason why I never bought a xbone. For me, the content just isn’t there.
Beat Saber is my “must have” VR game. It’s what sparked my interest and research in it.
Good for you.
I first played PC VR in the mall after hating on VR for like 5+ years.
Then the next weekend just happened to be a weekend when Best Buy was having PSVR on display to try out and I went and tried PSVR out. I was pretty disappointed at the resolution difference with the games on the demo disc. But then I tried the Moss demo and I was instantly sold.
This was in November near Black Friday (3 months before Moss came out too, which I didn’t know at the time - I assumed it was out already) so come a week or so before they had the Skyrim bundle so I snagged that, although I ended up selling Skyrim cause I didn’t care about it. I just wanted all the hardware.
My library grew very quickly after that with games I had no clue about until I already had one.
@ me when we get some Armored Core/Gundam mech shit on VR. Full on team up and pvp type shit too. I’m not hype fighting npcs and ai. The whole thing can fuck off till then.
I been looking into the some of the newer VR sets releasing for PC. I been eyeing the Oculus Rift S but I’ve read mixed things about it. The new vive looks awesome but the price for the full set is insane. A friend of mine has PSVR and honestly, if it didn’t have the move as controllers I probably own one. The move isn’t my cup of tea to controlling things in VR. I might have to wait into the second iteration to dive in.
I think for at least the PC side of things there needs to be some hard and standardization for VR in general.
Right now you have different competing ecosystems with their own standards.
Psh forget VR. Wake me when Smell-o-vision is a thing.
I can’t stop laughing.
