I mean, you donāt even have to take Kamiyaās word for it. The way the games wall you off until you beat a group of enemies is just like how youād have to defeat a set wave of enemies before youād be allowed to progress forward in an old beat 'em up.

If youāre gonna use a platformer to compare to DMC, then it should be Capcomās SNES Marvel games Mutant Apocalypse and War of the Gems. Both of which are counted as beat āem ups, because of thar core beatā em up trope: blocking off forward progression until you beat a wave of enemies.

Beat Bloodborne. Who knew the big secret (at least for me) was to dodge less at the bossā¦fucking wow. I donāt think Iāve hated, loved and rolled my eyes so much at a game other than this one. Starting up a new game and going through it again.
Didnāt beat the DLC, still at OoK, but decided Iāll save that for the next-gen dry spell, haha.

I donāt know. I saw the ending and was like āOf courseā¦ā only to be treated to more story. Then the credits rolled and I was back at the beginning in the digs I was wearing when I finished the game. I figured it started me up at NG+ already? I guess thatās not the case?

Funny thing about OoK was my first time fighting, I got it down to a few more hits without much leg work and then after that I could get it just before the second phase without getting hit, but then after thatā¦I donāt know, lol.
OoK and the Last Boss (main game) if I took a break, I would just wreck shop and then get hit by some stupid shit OHKO nonsense only to get progressively worse, as I feel I was both overthinking it and getting tunnel vision with certain set of moves or strategy, if that makes sense.
