It was announced almost 10 years ago. Lol
I was in the crowd when it was announced at EVO.
After shitting the bed with Tekken 7 it is for the better. Neither side would be content with the additional compromises made in a shitty crossover.
Is this an instance where we are just substituting our own reality here and saying T7 hasnāt been a success?
Itās a commercial success with a lukewarm critical reception, but it is a lousy fighting game that abandons franchiseās fundamentals. It also has the sloppiest execution in Tekken history and bullshit marketing and DLC practices to go with it. It would not be worth the harddrive space it takes even if it was free.
And the last part, which is something Iāve been saying since SFxTās reveal (even though I ended up enjoying the game overall).
Itās a crossover no one asked for and no one wanted to begin with. No one is going to cry any tears about it being canceled.
ā¦This sounds like you are putting in your own reality. I get it. You donāt like T7ās mechanics for whatever reason and seem to have a hate boner for Negan. Saying the game has a lukewarm critical reception appears to be pretty false if Evoās tourney numbers are anything to go buy.
That is an understatement. I do not like anything about Tekken 7 and I own every damn installment prior. I am indifferent about Negan being spliced into the aborted mass known as Tekken 7. Also, FGC < 1% of playerbase and reviews rate it as mediocre with a hint of positivity from people unfamiliar with the franchiseās prime. Ironically the best reception seems to be from the disgruntled Capcom aficionados.
However, if I had to describe the situation in a metaphor: Tekken 7 is like being in a kiddie pool with mandatory floaties and shitty music playing in the background after having experienced swimming in the currents of the ocean. Fuck that noise. I am sticking to the ocean.
Iām trying to find these reviews you keep referencing and looking at Metacritic the game is sitting around 81-82 with mostly positive reception. I hope you are attempting to use user reviews uphold your argument.
Edit: To add to this Iām also finding it strange that we arenāt counting how many people in the FGC are playing the game (the people who play the game at the highest competent level) on one of if not the biggest fighting game stage as a gauge for how good/fun a game is especially if the game has been out for 4 years and itās its taken over SFV for entrants twice at least (so far at the moment anywayā¦could easily change)
Just stop while youāre ahead, @sonichuman. Itās pointless trying to argue with NYM. Heās a fucking troglodyte.
First time I ever hear that Tekken 7 sucks
Alright, I need to know why T7 sucks.
I am looking at user reviews, but critic reviews have changed to the point where review scores range from 5 to 10. Now a 7.5 is straight mediocrity, 8.5-9.0 is respect and anything above is adoration. However, it is better to read the reasons for the score as the finer details are not weighted the same way by everyone and the number assigned is not the best indicator of quality.
Iāll agree that the music is pretty bad. The Tekken 4 OST is my shit tho
Iām not even really trying to argue with him so much as trying to tell the man that he needs to realize that his opinion is in the minority. Iām perfectly fine with someone not liking something, I have issues when someone starts presenting their dislike of something as fact.
Aside from the presentation and content there is botched okizeme, ineffective sidestep making the game too linear, braindead easy throw breaking, armored moves breaking flow of pokes/launchers, mid crushes making many exchanges unpredictable, more juggle extension, less consistent hitboxes, and ass pull supers/combo extenders for the losing player.
Looks like we will be getting an influx of MUA3 info soon
Misread what you meant. Uh, cool, I guess?
TxSF is vaporware, but I legit wanted to see what Namco would do with full control of the SF license. The way they integrated Akuma (Geese too) into the canon AND gameplay was phenomenal
A full game wouldāve been insane. Hope they actually get back to work but I wonāt hold my breath
This isnāt really true though. The fgc has always wondering what would happen if different FGās crossed over with one another. Itās been that way for along time. I mean fuck there were hundreds of videos dedicated to MKvSF, SFxTekken, MKxTekken and so forth. How they would play, who would develop them, how characters would cross over into that games battle systems etc. the hype for the kind of cross over for SFxT has been pretty much existent since fighting games became major franchises.
I remember TOOOOONS of people being hype for SFxT.
The problem with SFxT is as more info came out pre-release and post-release the more upset people got.
A form of āpay to winā system via Gem bundles. Though these didnāt matter in tournament play they did in casual and online play.
On disc DLC characters and Capcoms bullshit reasoning for it
Gross imbalance issues (v.2013 is legit one of the best fighters Iāve ever played tho)
Capcom forcing the 2v2 Tournament Feature on TOās. I remember how much this pissed of Wiz when he announced it for the line up for 2012 Evo.
The other thing was is that they blamed the cannibalization of the genre during that time on poor salesā¦yet they were the one pumping out FGās again pulling focus away from their own games.
Also regarding TxSF. Like I said, I was there in person when it was announced at evo. The place fucking exploded. People were super stoked.
