June 2019 NPD

https://www.dualshockers.com/marvels-spider-man-batman-arkham-city-best-selling-superhero-game/

Sooo yeah Switch still the top selling console. Also Spider-man is now the best selling super hero game! Congrats to Insomniac.

June top 20: SMM2 (nice), CTR: NF (double nice!), MK 11 (guess it’s time for the decline), GTAV (jeeez…climbing into the Top 5), Minecraft (and THIS guy…), Smash Ultimate, Spider-Man, NBA 2K19, MK8D, Days Gone, Rainbow Six: Siege, RDR II, LoZ BotW, MLB 19: The Show, CoD Blops IIII, Division 2, NSMBUD, Ass Creed Odyssey, Super Mario Party, God of War.

Top 10 games for the year: MK 11, KH 3, Division 2, Anthem, REmake 2, Smash Ult, Days Gone, RDR II, MLB 19, Cod Blops IIII

Top 10 over the past 12 months: RDR II, CoD Blops IIII, NBA 2K19, Smash Ult, Spider-Man, Dat Madden 19, Ass Creed Odyssey, MK11, FIFA 19, Battlefield V

Xbone top 10: MK11, GTAV, CTR: NF (higher than I expected), RDR II, Minecraft, Forza Horizon 4, Rainbow Six: Siege, NBA 2K19, Division 2, Ass Creed Odyssey

PS4 Top 10: CTR: NF, Spider-man (all the way back up here eh?), MK11, Days Gone, MLB 19 The Show, GTA V, Minecraft, CoD Blops IIII, NBA 2K19, RDR II

Switch Top 10: SMM2, Smash Ult, MK8D, LoZ: BotW, NSMBUD, CTR: NF, Super Mario Party, Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu, Super Mario Odyssey, Yosh’s Crafted World

3DS Top 10: Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth (welll I guess it doesn’t have much competition but it’s nice to see it’s selling at least), Pokemon US, Pokemon UM, SMM, LoZ: MM3D, Luigi’s Mansion, Smash 4, Det Pikachu, SM3DL, MK7

Except the CV collection was only ever meant to be a collection. RE4, 5 and 6 are separate releases on Switch. The Triple Pack is just a bundle with them together.

“It’s a triple pack not a collection.”

Listen to yourself.

13 Sentinels stream:

At around 3:49:00 they start showing some of the battle gameplay.

My thoughts:
Wow the animations are amaaaazing

Hmm it’s strange though, they show sample 2D animations when selecting attacks but it doesn’t seem to show an animation when you actually execute the action.

It almost plays out like watching a 3d radar from a base or something

They put a lot of work into animating the map itself.

Seems like it’s real time except while selecting actions?

Shit this is really cool honestly. The attack effects and radar animations are super cool lol

They really got that anime mecha feel with tons and TONs of popcorn enemies that you can blast away with massive missile barrages or lasers n shit.

There’s abilities units that can shield other units.

Ah, the base itself has special commands like an EMP wave.

Damn, I’m mega sold

Because they never did say they were selling a collection of three RE games in the same way Konami did the CV collection. All they actually announced was RE 5 and 6 coming out, and then stating there was a bundle to get those two, alongside RE4.

As for a launcher, CV collection is basically just a bunch of ROMs and the launcher an emulator. This is different in that these are actual ports. Having them under one executable would require recoding them all as one executable. Pretty sure a game on any console isn’t allowed to call up any other game/application/executable (aside from the store and browser) because that just opens up a whole 'nother can of security worms. That’s on top of, if they did go this route, having to maintain that build (the “collection”) separately on top of maintaining the individual releases - any patches or fixes will now need to be applied separately, and likely require separate approvals, for each.

Now if they had originally just announced a collection with all three games, then maybe I’d be singing a different tune

At the beginning of this generation it was all “mah Playstation can do 1080p and your Suckbox only 900p, hurrdurr” and here we are with Switch outselling the rest.

Maybe, at some point, a few months before the apocalypse, people will understand that the games are the important part form the get-go.

A quick moment to laugh at Fallout 76 again…it’s been a while:

 it surprises me that there’s still people who are even bothering to waste any time with this game at this point. There’s 2 people on my friend list that actually have this shit for some reason…at least for one of them it makes sense because he’s always had bad/questionable taste.
I was just mentioning to someone the other day that this kind of shit is the reason I’ve actually given up all hope on the future of the Elder Scrolls franchise. I had my fun with Skyrim and a little ESO at least, but that will be the end of it. It’s a foregone conclusion that TES VI will be another shitshow as usual. They’re terrible but have always gotten a pass somehow…until now, with the gaming audience finally drawing a line in the sand; no longer tolerating substandard, half-ass trash.

But dont forget the Xbox has no games.
PS4 has more actual exclusives and not just “timed” exclusives both from in house and 3rd party publishers.

Switch sells as it fills a niche that regular consoles can’t, out performs anything mobile, have a killer library at launch and has good marketing.

I think the Switch sells on the portability. It gives it more utility than it’s competition.

I always buy systems based on their game library. That’s the only thing that’s important to me. I don’t really care what specs are for a system. I don’t care about online stability. I don’t care if the online player base for x y and z games are better on one system or another. I don’t care if all my friends have a certain system. If it has the games/exclusives I want than I’ll get it. I usually wait until there are 5 or more titles I really want to play before I invest into a new system.

The only exception has been the Switch. I bought a switch at launch because their presentation was so fucking good. They showed so much more than a usual new console reveal. It was hard to deny the allure and potential of the Switch. I don’t regret buying it at launch either. There are a few games I regret buying but over all I’ve been super happy. I’ve bought more games for my Switch in the 2 1/2 years its been out than the PS4 which has been out for 6 and I’ve had for 5.

I have more games for the PS4 but like 90+% of them are from PS+ so I don’t particularly count those.
