Developers can’t even make a good Superman game. I’m not surprised vampire games have taken this long to bloom.
At least Vampires get games. Werewolves haven’t gotten shit.
Quit trying to steal Million’s thunder.
No one wants to play as a fursona.
Bloody Roar fans would like to chime in
Yes. I’m sure there are dozens of them out there. Dozens!
I’d love a werewolf-focused game (where the player’s character is either turned into one or simply born into a family/pack of them) too if it was made right… of the popular supernatural monsters, Vamps and werewolves have always been the top 2 cool ones, imo… monsters that are fully aware of what they truly are…and they have these cool supernatural abilities but are still able to pass as human, and often keep that aspect of themselves secret for various reasons. There’s so much interesting stuff to be done with that concept in terms of story and gaming.
For a long time, I think the sad reality is that most people in the games industry simply are lacking in creativity/imagination…you pitch a Vampire game to them and they might automatically assume it’s a thing where the main character is a basic human good guy that’s hunting them or trying to survive “so…like a Left 4 Dead but with vamps, right?” (*I’d be down to play that, actually… but nah I would prefer to actually be one of the vamps.)
I remember vaguely there was a werewolf game that was supposed to come out way back…either on NES or SNES, but I never actually saw it in stores and assume it just got canceled.
There is a werewolf game for the NES.
Lot people in here sleeping on Kain it seems.
Legacy of Kain and Soul Reaver games were cool vampire games. And so was looking that Legacy of Kain Dark Sun that was cancelled.
anyway
Altered Beast
That don’t count. Your only a werewolf on the first stage.
The first AND the LAST stage, actually.
Sonic Unleashed…>.>
runs
Seriously though, bring back Bloody Roar. Everything else got a renaissance, it’s BR’s time!
In America, or worldwide?
If the former… I’ll take that bet.
Not happening. Konami owns the IP now.
Vampires have always been my favorite of the supernatural beings. Ive always loved vampire flicks cept for them new ones with dem sparkly vampires. Fuck dat. Fright Night, The Lost Boys, Interview with the Vampire, etc., etc… Vampires are just fuckin’ dope as hell.
I’ve wanted a vampire game for a long time but figured there would never be a good one that had you, the main character, as a vampire. Figured you’d always be killing the vampires.
…I’ll pay my respects with a proper funeral…
Here is the cover to the NES game
