Video Game General 6.3: Sekiro has so many damn chickens man. Chickens Everywhere!

and here we are with another one… not that long ago I kept thinking “it would be awesome if they ported Cuphead to Switch one day…” and BOOM here we are, folks. The dreams just keep coming true with this instantly-legendary system.

Man, I missed so much by not seeing that Nindies showcase. Blaster Master Zero II announced AND dropped on the same day? Then I find out Hell has frozen over and Cuphead is coming to the Switch in April? Nintendo, are you trying to give me a heart attack?

Now I’m not a PC gamer at all so I might not understand the finer details of this but why does it matter whether you download a game from one store via downloading it from another? The only issue I see here is that they aren’t treating those different stores equally but I can see why Epic wants to force the issue a bit because otherwise they wouldn’t stand a chance against Steam.

From what I’ve read it has to do with how totally lacking in features the Epic store is

The Epic Store launcher isn’t feature rich as Steam as shown here. https://i.imgur.com/SynNfar.jpg

Aside from all the things that’s missing there is piracy concerns as Fortnite already had two major breaches and just recently it’s been discovered that the epic store launcher will look through the data Steam stores locally your PC. I’m all for Epic Game Store to be competition to Steam but it’s undercooked in its current form.

Lack of offline play is certainly an issue I can understand (edit: as well as the security problems) but everything else is just bells and whistles Valve has had the chance to be able to add over the span of multiple years. It’s not ideal right now but it’ll grow. At the beginning Steam was nuisance for HL2 players and nothing more as well.

I expected some major controversy because the top tweeted answer on that post is some guy who said he’d just pirate the game but I guess that’s just a random internet asshole as usual.

Those bells and whistles is something steam users make regular use of. I make use of the marketplace, cloud saves were handy when I got a new PC and reinstalled a couple of games. It’s not appealing to me to jump on a platform missing the stuff I’m use to. Not having third party sellers is a big kicker for me as I often by my games from sites like Green Man and Fanatical.

Cloud saves should be a standard feature on any platform. I use it both on Steam and PSN. Epic not having them is just…

Even Nintendo has them now

Believe the kombat cast yesterday said there was going to be another char reveal today?

Need to put captions on

I agree, Banjo are 99.9% fetch the BS, like DK64 and Mario 64, at least Mario 64 makes you feel like you aren’t just hunting stars.

Lorewise he’s supposed to be strong. Per the Kombat Kast he was one of Shao Kahn’s generals. Shao Kahn saw him as a potential threat and him locked away in Shang Tsung’s Flesh Pits for experimentation.

No Firmware updates? I am sure there will be updates.
Nothing is immune to the firmware updates. Even the Xbox One and Switch Joycon controllers get firmware updates.

Compressed Video in gaming? No thanks.
Also comparing Stadia’s console hardware to the PS4 and Xbox One is a really bad apples to oranges comparison. My Desktop PC still crushes the Stadia’s specs. Googles have some serious failures in the past, G+, Fiber, and so on.

Compressed video, console is just a dumb terminal,
Stadia is a hard pass from me.
