If the Switch can handle Vampyr well…ohhhh you know damn well I’m absolutely buying it again on there. PORTABLE Vampyr action?! Hell yeah, man.
Switch continues to be Legend status.
I’m curious about that indie game again where you’re an alien blob that absorbs people…I posted about this some months ago— I’ll have to dig through this thread and find it, since the format of this “discourse” bullshit is such a damn pitiful pile of shit. (*it’s pretty bad when your design makes the gamefaqs forums look nice by comparison.)
Vampyr for Switch is such a weird choice. You might think putting Life is Strange on there would be a better fit both for the console and their demographic. Not to mention it already has a last-gen version so the porting process should be super easy.
That said it does fill kind of an ‘mature western RPG’ hole on the platform so maybe it’ll be a minor success.
You sure? Sounds like a gay Cowboy 's who eat pudding movie to me.
And I the only one who thinks RDR 2 is not as good as the hype suggest?
Most of these creative types are really fucked in the head or they have some really shady pasts.
I still continue to read books, watch TV and films and play games that I like.
Does it require playing any previous games to get the story? IIRC most (or even all maybe?) Falcom games take place in the same world and there’s tons of sequels and shit.
My heart says we’ll get HD rumble goodness for the RE4 gun reloads, but my brain says we won’t
I’d wish Capcom would fix the DMC collection so I could buy it and the MM Legacy Collection so I could double dip :annoyed:
In other news Nier:Automata is fucking greatness, if not cliched (which is still coo’). Hegal boss fight kicked my ass and was absolutely insane.
The scale and bullet/laser dodging had me going “HOLY SHIT!!!” out loud. I’m enjoying the third arc. Don’t understand the complaints about 9S, his gameplay is a blast in the second arc! Not going for the side missions or weapon upgrades like a planned to buy that’s because I’m digging the story a little more. Same thing happened with Yakuza 0 and not doing the side content. Story ended up grabbing me and I had to see what happened next.
Ys: VIII? Nope. Outside of some small easter eggs here and there you won’t miss anything story-wise. Each Ys game has a unique story and the only reoccurring thing is Adol(the main character.) Every game is a unique chapter in the Ys book and for each chapter there’s going to be a game, and apparently there will eventually be a 100(!?) Ys games. Adol’s adventures never end.
Based on the type of games you talk about I’m a 10000000000000000% sure you’d love Ys: VIII. If you get it and enjoy it(again, I’m certain you will!) Ys: Seven and Ys: Memories of Celceta(the Vita and now PC game) are pretty cheap on PSN/PC and they occasionally go on sale. The combat in those three are pretty similar, whereas the older games are more like older 2D Zelda/Mana games-esque with their combat.
The combat is always awesome, the stories/characters are always interesting and entertaining, and the one thing the series has in spades is charm, something a lot of modern RPG’s lack compared to ones of yesteryear.
PS4 version > Switch > Vita > PC(the PC port is really, really bad from what I hear.)
Thing is, I played the one on PS2, I forget the number/name, and I liked it but wasn’t a huge fan and it felt really short, so it kind of turned me off. If you’ve played that one is VIII better?
…I liked this one a lot, but yeah, VIII is better overall. Seven, Celceta and VIII all have fantastic combat and are just a blast to play through from beginning to end. Napishtim you could look at as the base for the newer Ys games where the combat got steadily better and better starting with Oath in Felghana --> Seven --> Celceta --> VIII.
Ys: VIII is like a top 10 game of the generation for me.
Ys games hold their value really well, especially the early prints/LE releases. I want to get the NIS website exclusive Limited Edition release of Ys: VIII someday, specifically the Vita version(they both come with the same content but the Vita version is usually cheaper and I have the “day one” release of the PS4 version already.)
Red Dead is fucking awesome. First t he general store shopkeeper didn’t have a horse brush to sell me and then he started talking shit about the fight I had just gotten in. So I shot him in the head. Then all the townspeople got pissed at me for killing him so I went deadeye on their asses and killed a bunch of those fuckers too. Now I’m on the run with a bounty on my head.
I hope its better than the last one. I nearly fell asleep playing that. It is a good thing ‘Undead Nightmare’ came with it or it would have been a total waste of money. ‘Gun’, on the other hand still kicks ass!
