Uh, exactly my point. I’m not, and never have said the DS is objectively better or the best. I’m saying it’s not objectively the worst. I’m saying it’s not bad taste to prefer it. I’m saying it’s not straight up bad design.
It’s just different and it works well for some, but it’s not only because people just got used to it.

Was playing the DmC DLC earlier. Vergil is incredibly awkward to control and definitely lacks the fluid movements and attacks that make Dante so much fun. The story also serves to make him that much more unlikable, although he wasn’t at all likable in the first place. This, by the way, is coming from someone who adores New Dante. Don’t @ me.
In other news pertaining to outdated games, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine continues to be that goud shit however many years later. It’s an incredibly cathartic third-person shooter. I wonder if there’s still a following for the multiplayer. I’d play the shit out of this.
i found DmC Vergil easier and more fluid than Donte tbh. i even found him to be more mobile than classic Vergil. i remember getting a item from that high floating platform where you need to juggle and enemy step a enemy way up high to get it and when i reached the platform after juggling/enemy stepping i was pretty impressed with his mobility.
