Given how in tune with the community Netherealm has been since Mortal Kombat 10, what makes you think they dont already have a fully fleshed out tournament ready version of the game along side the new armor element that expands the replability for casuals and side tournaments?

Sonic boom fire and ice has been in the oven for awhile. It was actually supposed to get released last year but they delayed it for a full year out of the holiday season iirc. Im guessing sanzaru was able to get sega to push the game back in order to have a chance at making it good after the previous fiasco. Also this is not the anniversary game that sega has been working on for the past few years. Latest rumor from the sonic twitter feed points that a reveal might happen in july.

Isn’t rumors, they were in the press release by NRS on the game hyping the title. Game is also going to Xbone but no PC release, which is probably a good thing.
I’m in wait and see. I’m interested in seeing how the game looks and what the armor system really is.

Im pretty hopeful for Sega to make a come back between the apology, these niche localizations, and buying Atlus then just letting them do their thing is say they’re doing better. I oddly enough just got Trails of Cold Steel last week and was not expecting to get the second one at all.
It’s like they got to where Konami was at then chose to turn back.
Sanzaru is a pretty good developer, there is a good chance Fire and Ice will be good.
To be honest… From what i saw in that trailer it seems like they are focusing ALOT on 2D gameplay , and most of it didn’t look half bad.
Not gonna hold my breath…but dare i say it…it could be a good sonic BOOM game.

This also looks kind of interesting. 2D action platformer that kind of has an art style reminiscent of Hyper Light Drifter. Gameplay kinda looks like old school Ninja Gaiden/Mega Man Zeroesque.

As much as I hate talking shit about my second favorite Sonic series of all time, objectively I have to agree. Sonic Adventures 1&2 were flawed mechanically for a bunch of portions out of the games. Not to mention the Eggman and Tails sections aren’t that great, they’re graphically all over the place, and the music was always wayyyyyy louder than the characters when they talked lol.
It’s so funny…when I look at Sonic Adventure 2 now, I can see so many flaws with it that I didn’t see as a kid. Yet it’s still one of my favorite games in the entire series. I bought it for 4 different systems, and still boot it up on my PS3 every now and then to play it for hours on end. The nostalgia alone is enough to where I’ll probably still be playing that game on and off till’ I’m an old, old man.
