Metal Gear got it’s closure with MGS4. I’m perfectly fine if we don’t get any more games in the series. It ended on a good note.

Metal Gear 5 was a good game IMO.
It just wasn’t that good as a traditional Metal Gear Solid game. Which wasn’t really Kojima’s fault, so I don’t get why people try to shit on him for it.
The problem is that those games would further tarnish the very name of the franchise and create a bad reputation among gamers despite the past entries being masterpieces

The masterpieces will stay masterpieces. Newer shitty games won’t change that. The value of Star Wars didn’t go down the tubes because the prequel trilogy was shit. The strength of the originals still carried it though. You can say the same for Sonic the Hedgehog.

The difference is the OG Star Wars trilogy carried plenty of re-releases and advertisement. It never left the minds of the consensus for any significant amount of time. You can’t say the same for Sonic.

Who cares? The old games wull aleays be there DMC2 didnt make DMC1 suck retroactivly. The new Die Hard movies dont make Die Hard 1 less good retroactivly. This is a stupid thing to be concerned with. I dont really dig the Metroidvanias but i just finished CVIV and Rondo again the other night and surprise surprise they still fuckin rock. If new games are shit then just tell people who ask about them not to bother.
The original three Sonic games got re-release plenty of times in collections. They are always the pack-in games in after market Genesis products.
