Is it actually confirmed? More people are noticing other chrono series sounds in the trailer, as well.
Considering CT has been ported to most handhold systems, as well as android and iPhone, I legit think this will be a true CT sequel, and none of that CC nonsense.

No way will there not be a Chrono Trigger related announcement. Using Frogs theme in that teaser is too specific. That said, there’s nothing saying it won’t be a supremely disappointing announcement either. That seems like the most likely scenerio. Probably just an overpriced rerelease of the game for its 20th.
Or maybe Square finally had a change of heart and decided to make games people might actually be interested in again.
CT is my favorite game of all time, aside from maybe RE4. But even I would prefer them to just leave it alone. The people who made that game have long since moved on.

I think it’s a tossup between a remake for PS4/XB1 or whatever, or a legit sequel to Chrono Trigger, and not Chrono Cross.
I’m willing to bet it’s gonna be the latter, no way are they gonna keep ANOTHER remake for another console, under wraps like this. It’s already been remade so many times, and they never teased it before.
CT is my all time favourite game (top 3 games for me are CT, FFIV, FFVI…I usually replay each one once or twice each year), but Chrono Cross was never a true sequel for me. It was a fucking Radical Dreamers storyline, copied the fuck over, and had sooooo little to do with the first game, aside from a select few characters having minor cameo’s, Guile being a scrapped version of Magus, and Lavos and Schala showing up…I wanted a true sequel to Chrono Trigger. All the OG characters, some new ones, on new adventures. Don’t gimme a sequel then fucking kill off Lucce and Gato.

I never put more than a few hours into Chrono Cross. The idea of a loosely based sequel doesn’t bother me for most games but when you have fun and loveable characters like the ones in CT, it’s kind of silly to just ignore them almost completely. Maybe I’ll try it again, I still have the PS1 version. I remember not particularly liking the battle system either.
Loved Chrono Cross. I like the combat, the world, the mass amount of characters, and the music. Shit was great. I understand CT fans not bein about it tho. Personally I think CT is over rated (It’s good no doubt, but not THAT good imo) so I had no problem getting into CC. It probably would have been better as a stand alone game tho, then I wouldn’t have to put up with the awful hamfisted connections to CT that it has. When it does that shit it manages to reach the lowest valleys of CT, the Zeal parts of the game. Pretty frustrating to be sure.
