Aug 5th for NA. 2 new weapons that include a bucket and a gatling gun, private and squad rooms, level cap increased to 50, 40+ pieces of new gear, 2 higher ranks for ranked. And there is still more content coming after the update apparently well into the Fall. Hopefully everything remains free. Also looks like one of the maps is getting changed up a bit to get improved upon.

Mildly disappointed. Just got the Xbox One port of Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. It plays well, has customizable controls, and is overall a pretty good port. However, every once in a while, the textures fuck up. It’ll be a missing layer on the walls in one room or the walls will be completely gone in another. The game unfucks itself if you leave the room and come back, and (so far) the actual floor/enemies/rocks and shit don’t get messed up, so it isn’t all that terrible, but it’s still a mar on an otherwise flawless port of a great game. I’m prepped and ready to put in just as many hours in the game as I have on the Vita.

I think I’m coming around to the 3DS, well more like the N3DS. Still don’t care for the 3D being used, but I need a portable SEGA machine. The more I look at this M2 Genesis and Arcade updates, the more I need one in my life.
I’ve owned at least 1 or 2 consoles from each generation beginning with the NES until now.
This is the first generation where I don’t want at least one console right away when they were released. Usually, there’s a couple of exclusives that make me want to get a console but not this time around. Bloodborne looks fucking amazing, but not 500 dollars amazing.
With the way current consoles are, when all is said and done, when it comes to my personal experience, PC has the least amount of bullshit as well as the highest amount of third-party games. There are more current-gen third-party games on PC than there are on a PS4 or Xbox One by themselves.
PC’s are mainstream. More people are playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at any given time on one platform compared to Battlefield 4+Battlefield hardline across PS3, 360, PS4, Xbox One and PC COMBINED. People who I didn’t even think could work a PC are coming up to me IRL asking me if I play “League of Legends” to which I respond by calling them a phaggot.
POS budget PC’s beat the PS4 in multi-platform games not only in graphical detail but performance. This includes paying for a windows license and odds and ends like KB+mouse(you shouldn’t need to buy those things if you plan to build a PC.) Spend a bit extra and make something that puts the PS4 to shame in multi-plats.
Really, in the end, it’s up to you as the consumer to make the choice. You can use your pad/stick of choice on PC. Digitally games are cheaper on PC because of the lack of Sony/M$oft licensing fees. You also have more digital stores to choose from(Steam, GOG, Origin, sites like Amazon that sell digital codes as well as other sites, bigger titles still have physical releases in stores, and you don’t have to pay for online.
If a game has its services shut down on console you can’t really do shit about it, but on PC, you don’t have to worry about this as much because of community patches/fixes. One of my favorite multiplayer FPS games had its MP services shut down when Gamespy went down, but because the community for this game is still active, a fix was made so the Master Server list can still be pinged making it so people can still browse for servers. This game came out in the early 2000’s. For comparison, not one PS2/Xbox game is online today, though I think Phantasy Star on Gamecube might still be playable(?)
Mods are awesome too, and there are the odd exclusives that release on PC that you won’t see on console. PC gaming is the easiest its ever been, the cheapest is ever been, and with Windows 10 out for free right now with Direct X12 it’s a good time think about making the switch. A new hardware generation is slowly trickling in too, and for someone like me who’s into this stuff, it’s all very interesting to see how things are going to be within the next year or two. B)
The best combo will always be a PC+console that has your favorite exclusives. I’m still rocking PC+PS3 combo with the odd handheld game in-between. B)
