Korra was fine. Every review was complaining about stuff like how short it was, etc. Things that are par for the course for Platinum’s action games where the meat comes from reruns and mastering the system at higher levels of difficulty. Basically, aside from the Naga levels, the game was panned for playing like a budget Platinum game, when it was in fact, a budget Platinum game.

Apparently the reason NoA won’t be releasing Devil’s Third in North America is because the game itself is really bad. Supposedly it suffers from a pretty inconsistent framerate, the aiming system sucks and one reputable source called it “terrible both as a shooter and as an action game” and that you could easily tell that “the development has been troubled at best”.

Devil’s Third is doomed anyway because it’s a Wii U exclusive. If it releases or not it’s not like it’s going to sell well.

Well, of course he will think that is a clunky japanese action game, since the action is not happening via cinematics and action events.

Prob cop ghost song when it comes out. Looks to be one of the more interesting indie titles i’ve seen.

I kind of do have gamer OCD when I care about the game a lot, so the fact that those eggs can hatch and permanently rob me from getting a +1 max health upgrade for the rest of the game will bug me pun intended. Also loving that while it keeps the classic Metroidvania map, you can still go off map.

The NR games are some of the best sellers in the industry. Most people will recognize the trait system as a mechanic from injustice and SFV’s longer combos are probably going to draw some comparison to MKX’s combos. SNK games simply don’t have the visibility even when it’s clear SF takes inspiration from certain aspects.

Definitely one of the best kickstarters I’ve seen up there with Bloodstained and Hyper Light Drifter, some observations after having watch the whole video:

-Really cool how the bull charging spiders can shoot arcing projectiles, have Samus’s screw attack yet you don’t, and they can even heal themselves lol for a game with $40,000 donation it seems to have pretty advanced AI
-I like that you have rechargable ammo and have to wait a few seconds before it refills it kind of acts like the Souls stamina bar and looks like it synergizes well with the Metroid style game play
-Art has a very moody, mysterious look that makes me want to explore and know what’s going on in this world, but it has a little too much blue and purple vomit, I’d like to see it cleaner and sharper with more sci fi tech
-Love how sometimes it’s quiet only sound effects of you and enemies, while at other sections music kicks in full force
-Going off map into the bug tunnels optionally is cool I hope to see the difficulty of navigating them and fighting in them turned up even higher to highlight their danger I want to feel like anything in this game can kill me
-Shotgun 2 shots those hard to kill bull spiders, but you need to be point blank range I like that risk vs reward
-I like how there are stretches without combat, but I don’t want it to be an empty game I hope it adopts Metroid Fusion’s more action oriented game play with these combat mechanics I want to be able to flex my muscle and not be restrained by lack of enemies

It’s things like these that really show a lot of attention to detail and a cohesive vision, so many indie developers think they can throw in a bunch of things people will like and that automatically makes a good game NO. Have a clear idea of what you want your game to be and make design decisions that support it, that’s why I have such faith in Ghost Song, everything about it toes the line between wearing it’s Metroid influence on it’s sleeve while still making it clear that it still has it’s own identity.

yeah…if it wasn’t at least 99% confirmed at this point it probably is now.
