That’s not always the case. The PS3 for instance was in the exact opposite situation as the Wii. It started out at a ludicrously-slow pace for a couple of years before eventually hitting its stride, and it churned out a steady stream of quality releases up to and beyond the point of the PS4’s launch.

I was under the impression that people didn’t really like The Last Story.
I loved The Last Story. It starts slow and the story is rather cliche but the gameplay was great, and the story was the most FF story i had experienced in a while so i enjoyed that.
i owned a wii since pretty much launch and it never “collected dust”.
i also had a ps3 and xbox360 which were constantly neglected due to having pretty much the same library, so even if there was a game i wanted to play outside of nintendo one of those two were ignored.
My sister bought a Wii and it collected dust in my place. Mario Kart Wii, Brawl and TvC were the only games I brought for it.
I liked the last story because the best girl won.

My Wii never really collected dust either since I had it about a year after launch. I was always able to find something solid to play but all of those titles got swept under by the mound of shovelware for most. People would take a glance at the library and then say the system didn’t have anything on it. I get that people have their tastes and don’t play anything but I believe they’re incorrect. I have over 30 titles for the system that I enjoyed and still currently own so I can’t see how the system gathered dust unless your tastes in games are narrow.

My Wii catalog is huge and i still play of the games. It’s the system I have the most games for, actually. The only thing that I have more of is digital games on psn which I don’t particularly count.
I don’t get how people can shit all over how “gimmicky” it was but then not say shit when Sony and Microsoft tried to copy all those gimmicks.
So I just searched a couple dozen titles I’d consider good games on the wii. They are spread out nicely over the course of its life. The only big drought occurs at the end of its life. From mid 2011 through November 2012 when the wiiU released. Bare in mind that this is just titles I searched, there very well could have been something that I’m not privvy to.
So yea, unless you are blowing through things in a week and don’t value replayability I don’t see the drought.

Uh…people did say shit. By not buying them. That’s why the Move is an afterthought on the PS4 and why the XBox One eventually released a version that didn’t have a bundled Kinect.
I don’t think I ever cracked 5 games for Wii, I waited at best buy for hours to snag it day 1, got home played 5 minutes of wii tennis which was hella fun, then passed out from being up all night on line. Played Twilight Princess intermittently, never liked the wolf parts, have MAYBE like 10 hours or so in that game, picked up Sonic and the Secret Rings which was actually pretty fun, despite some control flaws.
Yeah, I just bought a Wii for Smash Bros like 99% of gamers, but as having been manager of a gamestop around that time I saw no games for it, it was all shovelware in the beginning, I think Zack and Wiki was the only decent third party game I saw for a while, all the good stuff like Red Steel 2 (first one was such a major disappointment after all the hype it became the posterboy for why Wii games are gimmicky garbage) came after core gamers stopped caring about it.
I didn’t buy a Wii for smash. Don’t bunch me in with those pleebs

Or you could just delete the install after you beat a game? It doesn’t delete your save data. Just the game install. I don’t even have 150gb filled on my ps4. I’ll have a hard disk game I’m currently playing and maybe 1-3 digital games installed. I don’t need access to everything at once. Doesn’t make sense.
No offense taken…cause it’s true and I’m not ‘Gamestop’ lol. I only work for them. I’ve already said that people don’t really trade in good titles on Nintendo platforms that much for some reason. It’s why the trade values usually stay up on them unless it’s something like MadWorld, No More Heroes and some of the other 3rd party titles.
The running this industry to the ground thing though I probably can’t comment on.
I keep forgetting you can do that. I’d just prefer they’d stop taking their sweet time on this because I’d rather be able to just play any of my games at any point without having to go through the loading process again.
Never been to the Playstation download list? The downloads isn’t separated into nice convenient categories like how it is on Steam. Playstation download list lumps all that together and you have to scroll through all that shit to find what you want to re-download. Fuck that!
