With the recent success of Bloodstain and Shenmue 3 kickstarters how do you guys feel about big companies using kickstater as a means to gauge interest on a project? Right from the start we knew these games already had publishers and kickstater is merely to show said publishers there is a demand for their product. I hope that this doesn’t become a trend. The way kickstarter works right now it would be highly exploitable. If games become a sales success who’s to say that a company like Capcom would license the Darkstalkers IP to some random dev so they can make a kickstater and say this is the only way this game will happen?

If you ask me I am surprised Sega didn’t scrap Shenmue all together when they scrap the Sega Saturn version of the game and force the development team redo everything for dreamcast, doubling it’s development costs.
Only Majority of people who are getting Shenmue III are those who are fans of the series and played the last 2 Shenmue titles.

Actually Nintendo has actually been putting out a surprising number of demos and tries for games. Just not for most of their pillar IPs. I’d dare say they’ve been consistently putting out demos on the eshop more than MS and Sony have for the past few years (not 100% certain on MS since I don’t have a one). We got demos both monster hunters, code name steam, splatoon, fire emblem…hell we got a demo for Smash. Never would have imagined that one.

Yes Splatoon had the test fire event but the other games should still be on the eshop for the 3DS and Wii U. Cept probably MH3U for both platforms…I’m betting that got taken off when MH4U got put up.

Are those really demos or just stress tests/limited betas? Last I looked on the eShop, the same demos are still up from 6 months ago, which only added 3 games from the time I got it at the tail-end of 2013. ‘Nindies’ is nice, but c’mon. The only demos Nintendo is releasing is at Best Buy kiosks. That’s some BS.

The PS4 kiosks are nice, and I’d imagine it’s the same for PS4 owners as well? The Xbone ones are by far the worst.

Yes those are demos…the only game that would fall under stress test is Splatoon’s Global Testfire.

I don’t get how people can react like that. They’re just games. And it’s not like they’re coming out anytime soon. The only reaso. I got hype about all the smash stuff and earthbound beginnings was that it was available that day.

Unless there is a release date attached there is nothing to get hype about. It’s why I still don’t really care about KH3 yet. I like hearing new about it and such but until there is a release date I’m very whatever about it.

Haven’t had much time with my JXD 7800b. But I’ve managed to figure out how to get the controls mapped, and have been able to use a DualShock4 on it. Looks great on my TV, too, though I haven’t gotten to really play that way, yet.

Still need to figure out which emulators I should be using. I played through the first level of Star Fox 64, but the emulator I was using wasn’t loading ground textures correctly (where another I used did). I also got the first star in Mario 64 in a mostly flawless experience that looked far better than it did in 1996. (There was a slight audio glitch which I remedied in settings.)

I played these games legally; my uncle works for Nintendo.
