Video Game General 2.0: Yo Dawg I Heard You Like Remasters And Ports

I wonder if I should go to this. LA is only one hour away from me. Will it be worth attending?

Edit: I think “regular” people are not allowed to attend.

Is it even possible to get general admission E3 tickets at this point? I would go if thats the case.

I just remembered that the general public are not allowed in E3 anymore. Is that the case still or am I imagining things?

Demon’s Souls is a PS3 exclusive, Dark Souls 1 and 2 are the spiritual sequels, and Project Beast/Beast Souls is a nickname for the unannounced game which looks to either be Demon’s Souls 2 or a third entry in the Souls series.

Judging based in the art, and especially that gif with the player character holding a gun in his left hand I’m guessing it’s the latter, a brand new IP that will be a spiritual sequel to Demon’s and Dark Souls.

you could also note that dark souls exists in one realm and demon souls exists in multiple realms

So if its Demon Souls 2 it’ll be PS4 exclusive and if its Dark Souls 3 it’ll be multiplatform?

Sony really needs this exclusive. IMO.

Is it just me or back in the day we had console exclusive games and there werent bidding wars on what went where? I enjoyed the days of only having one console and having franchises that were only on your console. I think the beginning of the end was when flagships like Tekken, Soul Calibur and Final Fantasy started crossing over.

-Demon Souls 2 exclusive
-GGXrd exclusive (confirmed)
-Capcom exclusive
-Uncharted 4 exclusive
-Infamous Second Son DLC
-The Order E3 build saves itself for the horrible PR this last week

would that be enough to win e3? I feel like the big capcom announcement is going to shake the table.

If Kaz comes out in a PlayStation Tron suit that would be so ill.

2006 was the last E3 with general admission iirc. And was one of the best E3s too, I might add. Dat Versus reveal.

E3 is only open to industry people. That includes students, and (I think) employees of places like EB Games, but I think only upper management or something like that can attend. Not sure about that last bit (help, @Sonichuman ?)

Yes. It turned into industry/press only in 07

If only Old Spice would sponsor E3, they could open it to the general public again.

If you work for the gaming industry or a certain spec of retail ala GS or even BB you can go from what i remember. I worked for GS so i got my entrance fee paid by the company and just had to pay for hotel plus flight. Got soo much free stuff i had to pay extra to get my bags on the plane. Saw the Snake Eater trailer, MGS 4, PS3 with boomerang controller, those smexy PS3 colors. Also saw the only trailer for Starcraft Ghost and Blizzard there as well. Had a chance to face Fatality in UT2k4 but he needed a break after fragging like everyone and their family. Was a great time to go since they were showing off the PS3 and XB360 around that time so the HYPE was soo real that you know good stuff was coming!

Had no idea there was a subreddit dedicated to people fucking on The Playroom. PSN full of snitches though.

Demon’s has a hub called The Nexus and there are 5 teleporters that take youto individual locations within the World. Dark Souls has sort of a hub in Firelink Shrine but unlike Demon’s you just start walking in whatever direction you like and run into a huge interconnected world kind like Metroid but in 3d. Demons you always have to travel back to the Nexus to lvl up but in Dark Souls you can do it any bonfire check point (they went back to the Demons style system for lvling up in Dark 2). expanded move sets for weapons in Dark, as well as longer game. Also Demon’s and Dark are seperate universal with their own characters and lore.

We dont know anything about Project beast so i cant tell for ou anything about it other then what you see in that video.

Real Talk. I’d get a PS4 if…

The price went down a little bit (sweet spot would be $300 but I’d go for $350 if it came with a game or PS+membership).

Beast Souls was an exclusive.

AND Demons Souls is re-released on PS4.

Out of curiosity, is the input/online gaming lag you get with a flat screen TV as opposed to a CRT (which is what I have) overrated? That’s the main reason I haven’t gotten a flat screen or a new console. My already shitty connection paired with some new lag would be unbearable.

I could have sworn the E3 website had ways to buy your way in for the general public. But it aint cheap. Around 700$ to 1,000$ a ticket if im not mistaken. Or is that the price for the press itself who couldn’t get in for free?

Either way this year is going to be so sick just from what is announced so far, not even the secret stuff held for the show. Just one more week!

Unless you get a flat screen from a shitty brand, most haven’t had input lag problems since around 2008. Nearly every TV has a Gaming Mode that makes that a non-issue.

This is is an old video from a guy with the same TV as me.

Yeah I still rock a CRT. Mostly because I don’t feel like trying to move the giant fucker. Weighs like 200 pounds distributed across an odd shaped object.

Most new HDTV’s do eliminate most to almost all lag to the point you won’t notice it.

I get annoyed with people that buy single player games like Watch Dogs, with tons of shit to do in the campaign, but yet go to multiplayer on day one. Half the Twitch streams a few days ago was all mp.

I just started playing yesterday and I’m kind of overwhelmed with how much there is to do. Moreso than GTAV, cause you knew there wasn’t shit to see/do in all that empty desert land.
