Covenant is extremely better. Much improved graphics (since the first Shadow Hearts was suppose to be a ps1 game) amazing soundtrack, great gameplay, awesome story…it really is the perfect sequel to a game and an amazing RPG.
If you have ever seen me post anything about Amnesia , you know i hate running sims aswell.
From what i have heard though…the game gives you (among other things) a pistol , a shotgun , and a flamethrower.
So i don’t think it would be fair to call this one a running simulator as it seems you get more tools the further you venture into the game.
I’m sure cashing in on the resurgence of facecam-fodder horror games is part of it, but it’s nice to see a game that more closely reflects the atmosphere & tone of the actual Alien movie. I can’t help but be reminded of this old Eurogamer article.
Interestingly enough, the author also went on to pen the site’s review for Isolation. It’s almost as if he got just what he wanted.

did someone bring up Shadow Hearts? the games got more lighthearted as they progressed but the 2nd is always going to be the best one. First game did have a lot of very creepy music I actually liked. Yuri was a good fun protagonist.
Oh wow. This might be the first time I recall a developer state they were targeting platform parity to appease console warriors (of course we know that’s not going to happen). Why don’t they just full-on open the Internet floodgates & lock it at 900p/30fps on PC too?
EDIT: Doesn’t MS have an advertising deal w/ Ubi for this game? At least the old tinfoil-hat theory of paid parity might actually have a little credibility now
Before anybody gets up in arms about that, we should recall that Ubisoft has always been open with the fact that they dont give a fuck about the PC market. They always blame piracy.
