I actually enjoyed the parts in Assassin’s Creed 4 that involved sailing. It’s a pity that they just couldn’t make a full fledged pirate game, without all of the assassination bullshit.
Shiggy knows what’s up. Japan’s population is declining and its median age rising. Shiggy doesn’t want to see VR creating more forever alones in the country than there already are.
The man’s getting close to retirement, how’s he gonna collect his pension if there are no more youngbloods around to pay taxes? I applaud his forward-thinking.
Shiggy wants people to sit next to one another playing in the same room because local multiplayer = Japanese foreplay and more babbys being made.
Desmonds story reached it’s conclusion in ACIII, and it was fucking terrible. It was exactly what it looked it was going to be, and as bad as it sounds to boot. ACIII was such a let down.
The arrogant prick getting humbled routine had already been done when AC2 came out
It was called Assassins Creed 1.
AC3 was about daddy issues and heritage and betrayal there was just so much going on i guess general population didnt get it.
Plus what other game lets you hang a freedom fighter one one side of the road and a redcoat on the other so those honkeys can sit there and think about what they’ve done to this country.
Funnily enough, Black Flag is the first one that I own. So thankfully for me, whenever I get around to actually playing it, it’ll pretty much be an all new experience (other than the “wow, I can climb anywhere!” factor not being new, since I played a bit of the first one), and I bet it will be a blast. Don’t worry about me though; you won’t find me preaching or trying to justify my purchases on the internet to randoms.
I’ve actually recently been playing through all the Assassin’s Creed games. I’ve beaten AC1 and now I’m in two.
I gotta say, AC1 is REALLY rough around the edges. Like, you can obviously tell it’s an 8 year old game. Shit would freeze randomly, controls would sometimes just do the exact opposite of what I told it, and the graphics left a little to be desired.
However.
I don’t regret playing through it for the simple reason that the transition into ACII was so, oh so sweet. The improvements in every regard and aspect are just incredible. It’s a very pleasant change in scenery going from the dark and gritty feel of the first game into a time period where the renessaince was flourishing with color, life, and innovation. It’s like the game itself is going through a renessaince era; exploring the true potential of what an Assassin’s Creed game can offer and enjoying itself as much as the player is meant to.
I mean, they pretty much fixed EVERYTHING that was wrong with the first game, and even the things that weren’t already broken, they also improved. Free running is a wet dream. Combat is delicious and fluent. The tools you get (like smoke bombs, poison daggers, bigger pouches for throwing knifes, ect) are ALL useful and only add to the feeling that you are a one man army. The combat options you have utilizing your skills, your tools and the city itself are just unreal. Lemme give an example.
So I’m running across the rooftops, just exploring, looking for treasure, ect. All of a sudden I look down and see an entrance to a treasure dungeon (which I’ll also cover in a minute) which is guarded by six guards. I study my surroundings and notice a hay pile behind them. So, I dive into the pile, walk out behind the guards (all six of them are lined up horizontally) and stab two of them in the back of the neck at the same time. Now they’re aware and about to attack. So immediately afterwards, I throw a smoke bomb on the ground, walk up to another one of the guards amidst the fog, and slip a poison dagger into their neck. Then I scale the nearest building, and look down to watch the chaos as the poisoned guard goes berserk, slices all of his allies to pieces, and then falls dead to the ground himself. Boom. Six guards dead and none of them even know what hit them.
This is why I love this game. Your combat options are virtually limitless. It does such a good job of actually making you feel like an Assassin. And a badass one at that. And this is just the combat! I haven’t even spoken on how fluid running across rooftops is, how greatly improved the graphics are (seriously, for a 7 year old game it still looks pretty damn good), all the costume options you get, how improved the stealth system is, how awesome the story missions are, how much side content there is…but instead lemme go on about a feature that makes this AC unique from even the ones that came out after it.
The Assassin Chambers.
So, under the villa (which is basically your home base; a giant mansion where you can manage your city, train to hone your skills and other things) there is a temple to Altair, who at this point is a legend in the storyline. Behind a locked gate is his armor, but to unlock it you need to find 6 seals that are hidden in Assassin Chambers scattered throughout the game. These Chambers are just incredible in design. They’re awesome because this is where your climbing skills are truly put to the test. They’re cleverly designed platforming puzzles that force you to make clever use of your environment to move through and complete the dungeon, where at the end you acquire a seal as well as a huge sum of cash. This is something every single Assassin’s Creed game is lacking after II (Well actually, I think Revelations has them too but that’s the only other one), and it’s actually really sad because the designs are so fucking clever. Especially in the later chambers you find.
I could go on and on about this game and I’m not even done with it yet. Ezio is a badass (especially by the time Revelations comes around), the scenery is amazing and being able to work with fucking Leonardo Da Vinci is a really cool aspect since he designs most of your gear, the story is a fantastic upgrade from the first game, the free running is glorious…so far I harbor no complaints about ACII.
Can’t wait to finally get to III. I’ve only played a little of that one when it first came out, but I loved the time period it takes place in and the forest exploration aspect of it.
Dude just do it. Such a great game. I’ll probably come back to this game for years to come, even after I beat the later games. Shits only 8 bucks at Game Stop now too, and I think it’s free on Xbox if you have gold.
I was far more excited for Nintendo than any other conference. Sony was ok and had Bloodborne, and MS had Scalebound. I am so done with the average American taste in games.
No, No Man Sky? SMDH
Edit
I think that the main issue is that if you are not really that into x or y nintendo franchise then people will only find it meh.
For example, from all the games that they showed, only Hyrule Warriors made me wanted to play it (without counting Bayo2)
Outside of that the only other game that currently interest me is MK8 because that Luigi death stare
