VIDEO GAME CENTRAL...they are a proven scam. Don't buy sticks or ANYTHING from them!

Not one SRK, NeoGaf or any other forum member has reported receiving a TE from VGC. One of their employees posted in this thread a while ago saying they got 50 initially and randomly decided which preoorders would get them, LOL. Fucking moron liars. Makes no sense to cover a lie with even more unbelievable lies.:annoy:

When I last bothered to check on April 17th, they said they had not received a single SE or TE Fightstick. Which I find hilarious as they told me 2 weeks prior that a shipment had just been sent out. Guess they must still be using the Pony Express system! Who’d be willing to bet they don’t send out a single one?

I am supremely disspointed. I have not emailed alot, called them to complain or anything. I ordered in early Jan. waiting for my stick. I gave them every benefit of the doubt. I found a stick today at gamestop and I bought it of course, I then called to cancel.

I worked in customer service for years, and I am very kind to people over the phone but this guy was a total asshat. They refused to give me back a refund becuase of their “fee” Becuase they were shipped on April 7th to them from madcatz but have not recieved them. I kept calm I tried to be reasonable but the rep. I spoke too was rude, verbally abusive, and unresponsive to my needs as a customer.

I read over and over in this thread and in other places online don’t order from them etc. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and try to give a mom and pop store some business. If the person had treated me like this to my face I would have been close to doing something I would have regreted, and I am normally a very calm rational person.

I recommend if you still have an order with them and frequent this thread you cancel as soon as you can before they try to tack on more fees. This was the worst customer service experience I have had in recent memory and I cannot express the frustration after that conversation. If they want future business they should have refunded the money without question, apologized (even if its not your companys fault YOU aplogize to YOUR customers on behalf of whos fault it is) and maybe I would have bought something there again. Not now. Now myself and the people I know will no longer be giving them our business.

That is horrible customer service, how the hell do they see fit to charge any sort of restocking fee for a product they never had in-hand to begin with?

As stated previously, sure it may not be entirely their fault for being unable to ship out a product they haven’t received yet, but after waiting 3 months for something you’ve already paid for with no definite delivery date is just bullshit.

It seems as if they took on all those preorders KNOWING they would not be able to fill them and intending to charge the restocking fee to those who finally got frustrated enough to cancel their orders with them instead of continuing to wait.

Best of luck to everyone who has dealt with this company, if anything talk to your attorney and have them just call and threaten legal action if they persist with asking for the restocking fee (I guarantee they’ll give in, since 7 bucks isn’t worth the trouble).

Woohoo! Got my cc company to dispute it and give me my full refund for the 2 TE sticks that they failed to provide.

I’d lmao if they somehow shipped them out by the end of April or May or June or July…heck you might recieve it for Xmas!

Bet even Final Fantasy XIII will be out while they are still giving you the runaround.

Horrible story man. Did you get a full refund from them in the end? Did you dispute with your CC company? Did you file complaints at all the links in the original post for this thread? DO NOT ACCEPT NO AS AN ANSWER for these BS fees. If they refuse, dispute them.

At the end on the conversation he told me hold on and put me on hold. Then came back said my order was cancelled and hung up without saying if it was a full refund or not. If I do not get all of my money back I WILL dispute it to teh end. I am so fired up its about the principle of the situation and not the money. I am lucky enough not to have to sweat over the monetary part of it but I will fight tooth and nail over this now after the way I was treated.

Don’t worry about it, if you see a 5% restocking fee on your statement just call up your cc company and dispute it and explain the whole situation, that’s what I did and they are going to take back my money from their sorry business.

Make sure you dispute it within 90 days though otherwise they can’t help you any further.

For anyone else reading this thread, stay far away from this company they really need to improve their customer relations and a lot of other things.

Surprised this whole fiasco didn’t hit The Consumerist.

Capcom is finally shipping out their preorders back from January 27th, I don’t know if that can somehow be a shimmer of hope for people who are still hanging onto their VGC preorders.

I was going to use Capcom as an example of VGC not being the only one but we’ll see about that now in the upcoming weeks, even though it doesn’t matter to me anymore as I was fully refunded.

crap i just order a standard edition from them a week ago along with my buddy but from what you guys are saying i would have better luck canceling it and finding one at gamestop the torment edition too. crap i have to wait till monday

here in australia and im stuck with an order from vgc. unlike most of you guys, i found it harder to order from else where. I preordered mine around the 13th of Jan. at the time amazon couldnt confirm whether if they were getting any in and playasia had sold out of them.
Reading from others that they are able to purchase some from bestbuy and gamestop bumms me out as i would have jumped on the order list if they were able to ship to australia.
im finding my options are limited and im hoping there is light at the end of this issue. there have been some websites (besides vgc) that indicate that these sticks are being shipped out at the end of april, so not giving up hope yet.

just wondering how many of you guys still have their order still in place with vgc?

Man wish I would have registered here sooner. Maybe I would have saved you guys a lot of trouble with my story. I had the worst experience with a gaming store ever when I decided to do business with VGC. Hell Gamestop looks like a great business compared to these clowns. (I vomited a little in my mouth when I said that)

For Christmas, I decided to order my wife Super Princess Peach and a case for her DS and I had some Christmas cash so I ordered Hokuto No Ken for the PS2 (very overpriced btw for the budget edition but I was in a bind as It was close to the holiday) after seeing it on their BS Youtube channel. Overnight shipping turns into one week. First conversation with their customer service went no where because despite holding back and trying to be civil, their customer service rep decides to talk to me in a smarky, sarcastic tone, “well, other people got orders ya know. Trust me it will get sent out” Apparently, the HNK was not in stock despite the budget edition clearly on their site being listed as such. 4 days later, I get sent a tracking number and it turns out to not be legit and I call back and I get well your order is not ready. I get a little hot and they hang up. Needless to say I bought the same stuff at Play-Asia for 15-20 bucks cheaper.

Doing business with these guys is like asking to lose money. Completely unprofessional business that almost ruined my gift for my wife. For the small minority defending them, you don’t know jack shit.

I’m really sorry for everyone here who had to go through this. None of you deserve what is happening because you put faith in this store and they took advantage of that. Hope you get refunds. Best to all.

Did anyone receive their TE sticks?

Still sitting on my VGC order from back in early january. Still not sure if there’s anything else I can do, unless I sit at my computer all day.

If I could find one at a game stop then I would cancel but right now this is my only hope. however if they do not deliver by the 30th then I will have to cancel look for other custom options.
