Yun vs. Guy. I noticed that I think I saw him cancel his LP palm the fake one straight into his st. HK @11:06 in the vid. This is at the beginning of the first round, and then he does the cr. HK xx st.HK chain. Being able to cancel out of LP palm would be very useful if its true.
I like the “cartoon background” effect on the twins’ intro; Yun travel 3 times through the stage to finally land from the skate. In the Russia stage he passes by 3 trains and lands near the 4th.
And by that thing Daigo said in the interview, that Ono wanted a “gdlk-tier” in AE, i think a rebalance is not going to happen. And i doubt there will be complaints; because it doesn’t screw matchups that much, or at least above the “upper-high” people. I mean, there is the “modest” amount of health and other things to compensate…
@Baha - in the T Hawk match with Yun it was pretty much in Yun’s favour from the looks of it. If Yun can deal with T Hawk I don’t consider Gief as much of a threat. Don’t get me wrong, Gief is a HUGE threat, but not as much as I as thinking.
Yeah I totally agree. This early on it looks like it’s Yuns biggest threat but the matchup looks fine to deal with. I won’t be losing any sleep over it anyway ;P.
Well Zangief > T Hawk, unless that’s changed which I doubt it then Zangief will be a bad match. It’s difficult to fight a gief if you don’t have a decent fireball. Gdlk pokes like chun’s also help in the gief match, but I’m not sure Yun has good enough range on his. I think the matchup will depend on running away and building meter to either hit confirm into GJ or using EX moves to stop his jump ins and approach. I think it will definitely be difficult for Yun, because his specials all leave him close to the opponent on block except maybe his shoulder might be out of SPD range idk. Plus Gief hp >>> Yun hp.
Well, palm has good pushback too, but it can probably be baited and he can jump in or cr. LK xx EX GH to get in. Once Gief’s learn how to play Yun I’m pretty sure it will be 6-4 at least.
Maybe Daigo fought some Gief players that actually know what they are doing or know what to do to beat Yun, Afterall 3-4 SPDs and Yun and Yang are most likely dead. This would require both of them to be careful with rushing down since one hole in the pressure could turn the tables. And we aren’t exactly sure on what’s the best escape route for Giefs Vortex. But Yun looks to be able to keep Gief out but remember we don’t know the ins and outs of the match up.
Daigo was saying that Yun puts himself in a 50/50 if he tries to apply any sort of rushdown on Gief. If Gief does SPD or Lariat and guesses right then he does a lot of damage, if he guesses wrong and eats damage it’s ok cuz he’s got a lot more stamina than Yun. It looks like Yun has some decent pokes and AA’s, but playing footsies with Gief is scary.
you know that Yun player is the best SSF4 player in Australia right? that gief can’t even finish a combo, wakeup super, alot of mistakes and he still won by just guessing right couple of times. it’s looks like a bad match-up to me. vangief-tan will murder yuns.
And that Yun VS Zangief match was sort of bad. That zangief wasn’t too great(at least from that video), but I can already tell that is going to be a hard matchup. Look how closes Yun has to be to play footsies with Gief… Gief’s pokes were beating a lot of Yun’s stuff too. That match definitely reminds me of the Cammy VS Zangief match… All about building meter and NEVER getting knocked down. At least Yun appears to have better pokes than Cammy though.
EDIT: Also, lmao at Akuma’s escape Tatsu… I forgot they nerfed that… It looks so pathetic now.
Are there any videos of good (non-dropped) Genei-jin combos yet? I’ve seen people activate, launch twice or three times, then drop the combo. People are still figuring it out of course, but is there footage of someone who has kept the juggle up the whole way + done a finisher?
