I am really sad I didn’t get the iOS app out in time for this weekend’s tournaments. That’s a failure on my part and one I don’t plan to repeat. I set up a backend for updating the iOS frame data so that when a character comes out, iOS users can have the data that weekend instead of the next. Not going to help for this weekend though
iOS app will be out for review today if all goes according to plan.
iOS app is up for review, and Android app is 100% up-to-date. Over 4k people used the Android app today. Can’t wait to keep making improvements on the iOS side and finally start adding some of the more interesting features we have planned
Thanks for that! We have a small backlog of typos and stuff to fix like that that I will be able to fix now that I’m back from Undefeated in AZ.
We actually do have damage/stun values in landscape mode. I don’t have a callout to that in the app because once you know, you know, and from then on that callout would just waste space on the screen.
FAT is a great tool, very fully-featured and mature, been around quite a while. As the new kid on the block, it’s up to us to keep the UI clean and easy to use while we add features and reach the same level of maturity, so the ease-of-use factor is incredibly important to us! Glad you like it!
Any chance of taking the iOS app and using Microsoft project Islandwood tools to make a Windows Universal app? Would be great to have this on a laptop.
I won’t say no to this, but there won’t be any plans to do something like this for a long time. I have a lot of plans for VFrames going forward and they will take a few months to complete as it is. As for laptop support, I most likely won’t make a web endpoint for some time, but we are working on a notes solution which will allow you to take notes on your computer and refer to them on the mobile app, with potential for sharing those notes between players.
No, because there are currently no features in the app that we could use that money to support.
Our focus with VFrames is to support the community. Once we have features that require a backend with server maintenance costs we may open up for donations, but right now we have other ideas about how to bring in money that reward both VFrames and content producers, all at the free benefit of the average end-user.
Allowing the frame data table to scroll horizontally to show more would clash with the idea that you can swipe left and right to see other information about the character. For now, the only way to see that data on a phone-sized screen is in landscape mode, but when we add our “move details” screen accessed by tapping a move, that data will be available there as well. That’s just not in yet because all the features we’ve planned for that are not done yet
Up to 2 weeks or so for the first release of an app… it has been in review for 7 now. I recommend trying FA-Tool by @“D4RK ONION” – that app is available for free on iOS as well and also contains accurate frame data. I do of course hope you will give VFrames a try when it releases on iOS and as we add functionality over the coming months

[] New “Community” section, including current live streamers. This marks the beginning of our evolution from “frame data app” to “community platform for SFV that includes frame data”
[] Instant Updates – load frame data from our servers instead of requiring an app update to fix typos/add details. This will be especially useful on iOS since it takes about a week to update. You should have Alex frame data day 1, not week 1
[*] iOS release: Finally, the iOS version of VFrames has been approved by Apple and released on the App Store. The app can be downloaded here, and we’ll get it up to feature parity with Android ASAP.
