Vertagear Chairs

Figured this is a good place to ask.

So I have some extra scratch and was thinking about picking up a Vertagear chair.

First, the price is whoa. Still, they do have a steel frame which seems to be rare for racing seats.

Second, they seem nice with all those bells and whistles but are they comfortable to sit in?

The point of this thread is to get some feedback from those who have used and/or own Vertagear chairs to let me know if it’s worth the price. My office seat at home is extremely uncomfortable for long sessions of gaming and work so I need to upgrade my shit.

Please give me any advice you can. Thanks!

I have a DX Racer chair. They aren’t all that different. I think the only complaint I have of the chair is the arm rests. I made the mistake of getting their top of the line chair which is, evidently, built for bigger folks. So the arms are a bit wider apart than I’d like. It’s comfortable enough to sit in all day. The lumbar pillow and neck pillow make it even better. I’ve had no regrets.

I’m open to suggestions, really. Vertagear just keeps their shit out there all the time.

I took a look at E-Blue and it looked pretty solid.

Guessing not a lot of people have bought or used these chairs. Figures, they’re expensive as hell.

I have an AKRacing chair, which is another brand for these same types of chairs. It’s quite comfortable, but as the other poster mentioned they have models made for people of different sizes so you have to make sure you’re getting the correct chair for you. The reclining back is probably my favorite feature especially if I’m watching a movie or something on the PC.

The DX racer and anything like it is terrible, I don’t understand the appeal. Local arcade has a ton, I’d rather use a metal folding chair any day. get a real office chair?

This one in Sacramento, was “stress” tested yesterday:

The dumbest tech ever.

My ultimate goal is comfort and price. $300 is nothing when you compare it to “real office” furniture, as those can between $800-1,200 a chair. Believe me, I tried going the office chair route but the chair I use in my office is $900. I’m not paying that.

It isn’t even for gaming. I work from home a few days a week and need it to be comfortable to get my shit done. The chair I have now I can only sit in an hour or so at a time before having to get up and move around.

You can get an extremely nice and comfortable executive chair for around $200-300

Hell you can get some really nice ones for $150

Don’t buy into those gaming chairs

Well, if you have experience with one that you can recommend please do.

I’m 6’2" and 180 lbs so I can fit in practically any chair.

Go to a furniture store
Sit in them and try it out
Different people have different preferences whether its height, seat width, back height/width, arm rest height/width
Office chairs aren’t overpriced like gaming chairs and I’ve felt better back support on office chairs compared to gaming chairs
I have a mesh one and it’s godlike

I agree, its better to get a good office chair that promotes good posture yet is comfortable over any crazy race car looking gamer chair.
Also it’s easier to get parts for a Office chair if something breaks like a wheel or gas strut.

I got a mesh backed office chair, and the fabric is ripped, but I got a el-chepo chair and it takes alot of abuse (I like to lean back too much).

I just picked up the ergochair from Autonomous, and I’ve been real happy with it so far. I’m a bigger guy, and no complaints. The site is autonomous.ai

That actually looks pretty great. They have a showroom in the city. I think I’ll stop by to test it.
